Abstract

Bei dem Verfahren zum Inaktivieren von Viren und/oder Bakterien in flüssigen Medien, insbesondere in Blutplasmen und Serumkonserven, wird das Medium unter einem Schutzgas mit niederfrequentem Ultraschall bestrahlt. Das Medium wird mit einer solchen Leistungsdichte des Ultraschalls bestrahlt, dass harte Kavitation auftritt, bei der im Medium erzeugte Kavitationsblasen implodieren, sodass Schockwellen erzeugt werden, die die Viren und/oder Bakterien inaktivieren. Die Frequenz des Ultraschalls wird zwischen 15 kHz und 40 kHz gewählt. Vorzugsweise wird das Medium in einen Behälter aus einem Material abgefüllt, das Gas, jedoch keine Flüssigkeit hindurch lässt. Eine zusätzliche Behandlung mit UV-Licht ist vorteilhaft.
