発明を実施するための最良の形態 [0026] 以下、本発明の一実施形態に係る電子機器およびプログラムについて、添付図面 を参照しながら詳細に説明する。本発明の電子機器は、電子機器に備えられた操作 子の操作範囲に関する操作案内を行うものである。そこで、本発明の電子機器を、楽 器感覚で音声信号や映像信号を扱う AV処理装置に適用した場合について説明す る。
[0027] まず、本実施形態に係る AV処理装置 30につ 、て説明する。本実施形態では AV 処理装置 30として、 VJ機器若しくは DJ機器を想定している。ここで、 「VJ機器」および 「DJ機器」について簡単に説明するが、まずこれらの機器を操作するビジュアルジョッ キーおよびディスクジョッキーについて説明する。
[0028] ビジュアルジョッキー(以下 VJ)は、ビデオジョッキーとも呼ばれ、音楽に合わせて即 興で映像をミックス (合成したりつな 、だり)する。ディスクジョッキー(以下 DJ)が即興 で音楽をミックスするのに対し、 VJは主に映像を用いてパフォーマンスを行う。主にィ ベントやクラブパーティでスクリーン等に映像を切換出力するパフォーマンスを行い、 会場で流されて!/ヽる音楽や企画の進行に合わせて、適切な映像をその場で選択し、 タイミングよく流すことを担う。
[0029] 対して、 DJは場の雰囲気力も楽曲を選曲し、切れ目のない再生を行う。より具体的 には、楽曲のピッチ (スピード)を変速できるターンテーブル等を使用したライブ演奏 を行う。選曲の他に、 DJミックス、スクラッチなどのパフォーマンスを行う行為が一般化 しており、ミックスでは現在再生している曲と次に再生する曲をスムーズにつなぎ、音 の切れ目をなくすことでフロアのテンションを維持する。
[0030] ミックスの技法は VJ、 DJごとに個性があり、その違いを楽しむ観客も多い。そして、 VJや DJが操作する機器として、ミキサー、エフェクター等が挙げられる力 一般に VJ が映像パフォーマスンスに用 、る機器は VJ機器、 DJが音響パフォーマンスに用いる 機器は DJ機器と呼ばれて 、る。
[0031] 続いて、本実施形態に係る AV処理装置 30について説明する。図 1 (a)は、本実施 形態に係る AV処理装置 30を適用した AV処理システム SYのシステム構成図である 。 AV処理システム SYは、 AV処理装置 30に入力するための音声信号を生成する C Dプレーヤ 10と、 AV処理装置 30に入力するための映像信号を生成する DVDプレ ーャ 20と、これら CDプレーヤ 10および Zまたは DVDプレーヤ 20から、音声信号お よび映像信号を入力する AV処理装置 30と、 AV処理装置 30から出力された音声信 号を出力するスピーカー 40と、 AV処理装置 30から出力された映像信号を表示する モニター 50と、から成る。
[0032] 一方図 1 (b)は、 AV処理装置 30の簡易構成図である。図示するように AV処理装 置 30は、その主要構成要素として、操作子 100 (図示では 2個表示)、照明部 200、 照明コントローラ 31、オーディオ Zビデオコントロールデバイス 32、および CPU33を 有している。
[0033] 操作子 100は、出力する音声信号の音量および音質の設定、若しくは出力する映 像信号の明るさやコントラストの設定、また、音声信号および映像信号に対するエフ ェクト値の設定と!/、つた各種設定を行うためのものであり、現在の操作位置を指し示 すポインタ 101 (図 3〜図 6参照)を有している。照明部 200は、各操作子 100の操作 範囲に対応し、且つ操作子 100の操作方向に沿って配置されており、例えば複数の LED力も成るものである。照明コントローラ 31は、 CPU33の制御に従って照明部 20 0を制御することにより照明部 200の照明範囲や明度または色相を可変する制御を 行う。オーディオ Zビデオコントロールデバイス 32は、 CPU33の制御に従って、操作 子 100による操作結果を音声信号および映像信号に反映させる制御を行う。
[0034] CPU33は、入力された音声信号および映像信号に基づいて、各操作子 100の操 作対象となるデータ (例えば音声信号では音量や音質の出力値 (設定値)であり、映 像信号では明るさやコントラストの出力値 (設定値)となる)の適切な範囲を示す最適 範囲を設定する (最適範囲設定手段 41)。そして、設定した最適範囲を、照明部 200 を介してユーザに報知する制御を実行する(報知手段 42)。以下、最適範囲の設定 およびこの報知に関する制御について具体的に説明する。
[0035] 図 2は、 CPU33による、入力された音声信号の音量について最適範囲を設定する 処理の一連を示すフローチャートである。まず CPU33は、入力された音声信号の入 カレベル (音声レベル)を調査する(S01)。次に、調査した音声信号の入力レベル( 音声レベル)に基づいて最適範囲を設定する(S02)。さらに、設定した最適範囲に 基づいて照明部 200の照明範囲を設定し (S03)、照明コントローラ 31に通知する。 CPU33は、これらの処理を音声信号および映像信号の入力が継続している間、絶 えず実行する。
[0036] なお、音声信号の音質、若しくは映像信号の明るさやコントラストについて最適範囲 を設定する場合にも、 CPU33は、入力された音声信号 (映像信号)に含まれる各種 の情報に基づき、上記の手順で最適範囲を設定する。また、音声信号や映像信号に 対するエフ 外値の最適範囲を設定する場合には、音声信号 (映像信号)の特性と 、この特性に対する最適なエフェクト値を関連付けたテーブルを AV処理装置 30に 記憶させ、入力された音声信号 (映像信号)の特性を調査し、さらに記憶したテープ ルに基づいてエフェクト値の最適範囲を設定することが想定される。
[0037] 図 3は、 CPU33が設定した最適範囲を照明部 200が報知する一例を示す図であ る。図示する操作子 100は、ポインタ(つまみ) 101を上下にスライドさせることにより、 音声信号の音量設定を行うものである。照明部 200は、操作子 100の操作範囲 OE ( 操作可能範囲)において、最適範囲 SEのみを点灯することで、最適範囲 SEと最適 範囲外 NSEとをそれぞれ識別可能に報知する。また、図示する操作子 100は、ボイ ンタ(つまみ) 101の位置が上方になるほど音量値が増加する仕様になっており、こ の仕様を反映するように、最適範囲 SEは、音量値の増減を照明部 200の明度の変 化で表したグラデーション表示となっている。なお、最適範囲外 NSEを非点灯ではな ぐ最適範囲 SEとは異なる色で点灯させてもよい。
[0038] また、図 4 (a)に示すように、操作範囲 OEが 360° となる操作子 100の場合、照明 部 200は、操作子 100の外周に配置され、上記同様に最適範囲 SEと最適範囲外 N SEとをそれぞれ識別可能に報知する。さらに、操作子 100がエンコーダ (ロータリエ ンコーダ)タイプの場合には、最適範囲 SEが 360° を上回る可能性があることから、 この場合には、例えば同図(b)に示すように、 0° 〜360° の範囲 OE1と 360° 〜7 20° の範囲 OE2とを識別可能に報知してもよい。
[0039] このように、操作子 100の操作対象となるデータの最適範囲を設定し、これを報知 することにより、ユーザは、自らの視聴感覚に加え、報知された最適範囲を参考として 、操作子 100を操作し各種データを設定することが可能となる。また、 CPU33が、各 種データを最適範隨こ「設定」するのではなぐあくまでも最適範囲を「報知」するの で、各種データの設定に係るユーザの自由度が確実に保障されることとなる。
[0040] なお、最適範囲の設定において、音声信号 (映像信号)に含まれる各種情報に加 え、 AV処理装置 30の使用環境に関する情報を取得し、これに基づいて最適範囲を 設定する構成でもよい。これにより、例えば AV処理装置 30が設置された設置場所の 広さを加味して最適範囲を設定する、 t 、つた処理が可能となる。
[0041] さらに、例えば音声信号のみが入力中の場合、映像信号に関する設定を行う操作 子 100に関しては、照明部 200全体を非点灯状態とする構成でもよい。すなわち、現 在操作を行ってもその操作結果が反映されない操作子 100に関しては、最適範囲 S E、最適範囲外 NSE、問わず操作範囲全体が非点灯状態となることで、ユーザは、 操作子 100が現在無効状態である旨を容易に把握することができる。特にこの制御 は、 1つの機器において、同一種類の操作子 100が多数配置するような場合に有効 である。さらに、例えば音声信号に関する設定を行う操作子 100の照明部 200の点 灯色と、映像信号に関する設定を行う操作子 100の照明部 200の点灯色とを異なる 色とする構成でもよい。
[0042] また、 1つの操作子 100において、操作範囲 (操作可能範囲)が入力データに応じ て可変するような場合には、設定した最適範隨こ加え (若しくは最適範囲に代えて)、 現在有効である操作範囲 (操作可能範囲)を報知する構成でもよい。また、本実施形 態に係る AV処理装置 30のように、暗い場所で用いられることが多い機器では、操作 子 100の操作範囲に対応して照明部 200を設けこれを点灯させることにより、操作子 100の場所を報知する役割も果たしさらに有効である。
[0043] ところで、照明部 200 (CPU33)は、設定した最適範囲の他にも、操作子 100の操 作範囲に関する様々な報知を行う。例えば、 1つの操作子 100に対して複数の被操 作項目が割り当てられて!/ヽる場合には、各被操作項目の操作範囲を識別可能に報 知する。図 5は、種別の異なる 2つのエフェクト A,エフェクト Bにおいて、何れかの一 方エフェクトを有効にするとともに、そのエフェクト値を設定する操作子 100を示して いる(図示ではポインタ 101によりエフェクト Bが有効状態である)。この場合、図示す るように、エフェクト Aの設定 (操作)範囲 OEaとエフェクト Bの設定 (操作)範囲 OEbと を、例えば異なる色で点灯する等して、それぞれ識別可能に報知する。なお、各設 定 (操作)範囲 OEa, OEbは、上記同様に、出力値の増減を照明部 200の明度の変 化で表したグラデーション表示となっている(図示では省略)。また、図示は省略する 力 各設定範囲 OEa, OEbにおいて、さらに上述の最適範囲 SEと最適範囲外 NSE とを識別可能に報知する構成でもよ ヽ。
[0044] なお、例えば複数の操作項目の中から 1つの操作項目のみを選択して、操作子 10 0を操作するような場合にも、各操作項目に対して固定の色を定めておくことで、照明 部 200の点灯色により、現在選択されている操作項目をユーザが認識することが可 能である。
[0045] また、上述のように照明部 200 (CPU33)は、出力値の増減を照明部 200の明暗で 表す制御を行うが(図 3または図 4参照)、 1つの操作子 100に対して複数の増減バタ ーンが割り当てられており、何れか 1の増減パターンを有効にして操作を行う場合に は、操作子 100の操作範囲とともに、現在有効状態にある出力値の増減パターンを 指標する制御を行う。
[0046] 例えば図 6に示すように、操作子 100がミキサー (複数の楽曲をミキシングする機器 )によく搭載されるクロスフヱーダである場合、照明部 200 (CPU33)は、現在有効と なっているフエーダカーブを指標する制御を行う。この場合、照明部 200は、音声信 号 Aのレベル変化を指標する信号 A指標部 200aと、音声信号 Bのレベル変化を指 標する信号 B指標部 200bと、を有しており、表示色の明暗で各音声信号の出カレべ ルを表している(暗→信号レベル大、明→信号レベル小)。
[0047] 同図(a)に示すクロスフエーダの場合、クロスフエーダのポインタ(つまみ) 101が左 端力 右側へと移動するにつれて、音声信号 Aの信号レベルは徐々に小さぐ音声 信号 Bの信号レベルは徐々に大きくなる。一方、同図(b)に示すクロスフエ一ダの場 合、音声信号 Aの信号レベルはしばらく最大のままであり、音声信号 Bは、同図(a)に 示す例よりも比較的早い速度で音声信号 Aにミックスされる。また、同図(c)に示すク ロスフエーダの場合には、最大レベルを保つ音声信号 Aに対し、急速に音声信号 B 力 Sミックスされる。なお、信号 A指標部 200aおよび信号 B指標部 200bを互いに異な る色で表示するとなおよい。また、出力値の増減については、照明部 200の明暗に 限らず他の方法で表現してもよ 、。 [0048] このように、設定した最適範囲以外にも操作範囲に関する様々な報知を行うので、 操作子 100に係る複雑な操作をユーザに強いてしまう場合にも、ユーザが容易に操 作を行うためのアシスト機能を実現することができる。
[0049] また、上記に説明した例では、操作子 100を用いて設定する出力値の増減につい て、照明部 200の明度の変化で報知しているが、この構成に代えて、色相の変化、 すなわち複数色の色の変化で表してもよい。例えば、温度を調整するような操作子の 場合には、低温を青、高温を赤で表現した色相の変化で増減を表現することが考え られる。
[0050] なお、本実施形態では、映像信号や音声信号を扱う AV処理装置を電子機器とし て例示し、説明を行ったが、本発明の電子機器は、 AV処理装置以外にも様々な分 野の電子機器に適用することが可能である。例えば、本発明の電子機器をガス調理 器具に適用し、火力調整ノブの操作案内を行ったり、空調機に適用し、温度調整ノブ の操作案内を行ったりすることが想定される。これ以外にも各種操作子が搭載される 電子機器に本発明を適用することが可能である。
[0051] また、上記の例に示した AV処理装置 30の各機能をプログラムとして提供することも 可能である。また、そのプログラムを記録媒体(図示省略)に格納して提供することも 可能である。記録媒体としては、 CD— ROM、フラッシュ ROM、メモリカード(コンパ タトフラッシュ (登録商標)、スマートメディア、メモリースティック等)、コンパクトディスク 、光磁気ディスク、デジタルバーサタイルディスクおよびフレキシブルディスク等を利 用することができる。
[0052] さらに、上記の実施形態における AV処理装置 30の例によらず、装置構成や処理 工程等について、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で、適宜変更も可能である。

請求の範囲
[1] 操作子と、
前記操作子の近傍に配置した照明部と、
少なくとも前記操作子の操作範囲を、前記照明部を用いて報知する報知手段と、を 備えたことを特徴とする電子機器。
[2] 前記照明部は、
前記操作子の操作範囲に対応し、且つ前記操作子の操作方向に沿って配置され ることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の電子機器。
[3] 前記照明部は、操作対象となる複数の被操作項目を報知可能に構成され、
前記報知手段は、
前記各被操作項目と当該各被操作項目の操作範囲とを識別可能に報知することを 特徴とする請求項 1に記載の電子機器。
[4] 前記操作子は、操作対象となる被操作データの出力値を増減するものであり、 前記報知手段は、
前記出力値の増減を前記照明部の明度または色相の変化で報知することを特徴と する請求項 1に記載の電子機器。
[5] 前記報知手段は、
前記操作子の操作可能範囲内にお!、て、前記被操作データの適切な範囲を示す 最適範囲を識別可能に報知することを特徴とする請求項 4に記載の電子機器。
[6] 音声信号および Zまたは映像信号を入力する AV信号入力手段と、
入力した前記音声信号および Zまたは映像信号に基づいて前記最適範囲を設定 する最適範囲設定手段と、をさらに備えたことを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の電子機
[7] 前記被操作データが、前記音声信号の音量、音質、前記映像信号の明るさ、コント ラストに加え、前記音声信号または前記映像信号に対するエフェクト、のうち何れか のデータであることを特徴とする請求項 6に記載の電子機器。
[8] 前記電子機器が、 VJ機器または DJ機器であることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の 電子機器。 コンピュータを、請求項 1な 、し 8の何れか 1項に記載の電子機器における各手段と して機能させるためのプログラム。
