Bereitstellung eines Substrates, b) Aufbringung einer Zusammensetzung auf mindestens einer Seite des Substrates, wobei die Zusammensetzung eine anorganische Verbindung eines Metalls und/oder Halbmetalls und eines Elements ausgewählt aus der Gruppe Te, Se, 5, 0, Sb, As, P, N, C, Ga enthält, c) Trocknen der in Schritt b) aufgebrachten Zusammensetzung, d) Aufbringung mindestens einer Beschichtung auf der mindestens einen Seite des Substrates, wobei die Beschichtung ein Silan, Oxidpartikel, ausgewählt aus den Oxiden von Ti, Si, Zr, AI, Y, Sn, Zn, Ce und einen Initiator enthält, e) Trocknen der in Schritt d) aufgebrachten Beschichtung f) Aufbringung mindestens einer weiteren Beschichtung auf der mindestens einen Seite des Substrates, wobei die weitere Beschichtung ein Silan, eine antimikrobielle und/oder biozide Substanz, ausgewählt aus Substanzen enthaltend Zn, Zn-Salze, Zn-Komplexe, Zr, Ag, Ag-Salze, Ag-Komplexe, Sn und Sn-Verbindungen, und einen Initiator enthält g) Trocknen der in Schritt f) aufgebrachten weiteren Beschichtung, sowie ein so erhältliches beschichtetes Substrat.
