Definitions

  • Sorting of goods are on their surfaces information that can be read and read by a machine.
  • goods are postal items, such as parcels and letters.
  • a sender addresses and franks a letter and throws it, for example, in a mailbox.
  • a parcel is usually addressed by the sender, but posted at a post office.
  • a letter and parcel service such as a logistics company or a national postal company, delivers the letters and parcels to the recipients according to the addresses indicated on the estate.
  • the read address can then be applied on a machine-readable bar code by means of a bar code. After the shipments are sorted, they can be delivered to the recipients.
  • Such automatic systems for address recognition enable flexible forwarding and adapted processing of transported goods.
  • a human-readable address is necessary. For example, when using parcel machines for exporting and delivering parcels, it is possible to have parcels sent directly to parcel machines. However, the address of the respective parcel machine must be printed in plain text on these items. However, it may happen that the sender does not know the address of the parcel machine and that the home or company address of the recipient is used instead. If the address of the parcel machine is not specified, the consignment can not be delivered directly to the parcel machine.
