Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for accepting mailpieces.
  • the invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method.
  • Collecting containers are known for the collection of postal goods, which allow the deposit of mailings during the insertion of mail and also to prevent access to already inserted shipments.
  • the insertion slot is usually designed so narrow that access to inserted letters is not possible.
  • German Offenlegungsschrift DE 103 51 475 A9 describes a mailbox for collecting parcels having an insertion opening and a storage space arranged below the insertion opening.

If a user wants to insert a parcel shipment, he swings the flap forward towards him and inserts the parcel. In this case, the flap is designed so that it does not allow access to already inserted into the storage space packages in the open state. When closing the door, the access to the storage compartment is opened and the package falls into the container.
