発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0017] 本発明は、 1層式や 2層式のトイレに使用でき、排泄物処理材を容易に捨てられ、 臭いを抑えることができる愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セットを提供するという目的を、ト ィレ容器の底部に配置され、高吸水性と抗菌性とがある高吸水シートと、この高吸水 シートの上に配置され、液通過性がある中敷ネットと、この中敷ネットの上に配置され 、その表面の一部が低吸水性であり、低吸水性以外の部分が撥水性である猫砂とを 備えることによって実現する。
実施例 1
[0018] 以下、図面等を参照して、本発明の実施例をあげて、さらに詳しく説明する。
図 1は、本発明による愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セットの実施例 1を示す図である。 図 1 (a)は、断面図であり、図 1 (b)は、上面図である。
愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セット（以下、処理材セットという） 100は、高吸水シート 1 0と、中敷ネット 20と、排泄物処理材である猫砂 30等とを備えている。なお、以下では 、処理材セット 100を、すのこ状容器等を用いない、いわゆる 1層式のペット用トイレ 5 0に使用した場合について説明する。
[0019] 高吸水シート 10は、トイレ容器 1の底部に配置されており、高吸水性と抗菌性と脱 臭性とがある（図 2参照、詳細は後述)。高吸水シート 10は、その大きさが、例えば、 3 0 X 45cmであり、トイレ容器 1の底部を覆っている。なお、トイレ容器 1は、プラスチッ ク製のトレイである。
[0020] 中敷ネット 20は、高吸水シート 10の上に配置されており、液通過性がある（図 3参 照、詳細は後述)。中敷ネット 20は、その大きさが、例えば、 60 X 60cmであり、トイレ 容器 1の底部よりも大きぐトイレ容器 1の縁にかかり、つかみ易くなつている。
[0021] 猫砂 30は、排泄物処理材であって、中敷ネット 20上に敷かれており、低吸水性と 抗菌性と脱臭性とがある。猫砂 30は、造粒物であり、その表面の一部に撥水剤を噴 霧すること、造粒するときに強い圧力を加えることにより、吸水性が調整されている（ 図 4参照、詳細は後述)。
[0022] 図 2は、高吸水シート 10を示す図である。図 2 (a)は、断面図であり、図 2 (b)は、図 2 (a)の b— b断面図である。
高吸水シート 10は、防水フィルム 11と、吸水紙 12a, 12bと、吸水紙 12aの上に配 された不織布 16と、吸水紙 12a, 12bの間に配された混合物とを備えている。
防水フィルム 11は、例えば、ポリエチレンからなり、尿の横漏れやトイレ容器 1の底 部に尿がしみだしてしまわないように、高吸水シート 10の裏面力も周縁部を覆ってい る。吸水紙 12a, 12bは、混合物を均一に分布させて、挟み込むものである。
[0023] 混合物は、高吸水性榭脂 13とパルプ 14とカーボン材 15と抗菌剤とからなる。混合 物は、 30 X 45cmの高吸水シート 10の内咅に、 14gの高吸水'性樹月旨 13と、 40gのノ ルプ 14と、 8gのカーボン材 15と、 lgの抗菌剤とを含有しており、それぞれの含有量 は通常の高吸水シートに比べて約 5倍程度にもなり、例えば、猫の尿を最大 2500m L (個体差はあるが、猫の 5〜7日分の排尿量)まで吸水し、抗菌作用によりバクテリア の繁殖を抑えて、臭いを抑えることができる。
[0024] 高吸水性榭脂 13は、自重の 50乃至 2000倍の水を吸水しても固形を維持できる榭 脂であり、例えば、ビニルエステルとエチレン系不飽和カルボン酸又はその誘導体と の共重合体のケンィ匕物、澱粉とアクリル酸のグラフト重合体、ポリアクリル酸の架橋物 、ビュルアルコールとアクリル酸の共重合体、ポリアクリロニトリルの部分加水分解物、 カルボキシメチルセルロースの架橋物、ポリエチレングリコールの架橋物、キトサンの 塩、プルランのゲルなどを使用できる。
[0025] カーボン材 15は、層状の結晶体を有する鉱物を特殊条件で処理した後に、高温で 長時間焼成して得られる炭化物であって、その表面や層間に微細なカーボンが付着 し、イオン結合により、臭いの素となるアンモニア、メルカブタン、脂肪酸等を強力に 吸着する物質である。
[0026] 高吸水シート 10は、吸水紙 12b上に混合物が均一に配置され、その上に、吸水紙 12aと不織布 16とが配置され、これらが積層された後に、エンボス加工される。そして 、防水シート 11が高吸水シート 10の裏面と周縁を覆うように接着される。
混合物は、吸水紙 12a, 12bに挟まれてエンボス加工されているので、高吸水シー ト 10を通常使用して 、るときに、片寄ってしまうことがな!、。
[0027] 図 3は、中敷ネット 20を示す説明図である。図 3 (a)は、模式的に示す上面図であり 、図 3 (b)は、側面図である。
中敷ネット 20は、縦糸 21と横糸 22等とからなる。縦糸 21と横糸 22は、撥水性を有 するポリエステル等力もなり、それぞれ略直交するように重ねられており、その接点 23 で接着されている。なお、この縦糸 21と横糸 22は、その太さが 500デニールである。 中敷ネット 20は、複数の縦糸 21及び横糸 22とが接点 23で接着されることにより、 網目 24が形成されている。この網目 24は、その大きさが 2 X 4mm程度であり、後述 する猫砂 30の造粒物よりも小さぐ猫砂 30が網目 24からこぼれ落ちない。
また、中敷ネット 20は、縦糸 21と横糸 22とが接点 23で接着されているので、編み 込まれた場合と異なり、ほつれてしまうことがない。
[0028] 図 4は、猫砂 30を示す説明図である。図 4 (a)は、斜視図であり、図 4 (b)は、部分 拡大図である。
猫砂 30は、粉状ゼォライト 90重量部、粉状バインダー 10重量部を含有する混合物 の造粒物である。この造粒物は、粒径及び長さが 3. 5乃至 5. 5mmの円柱状であり、 嵩密度が 0. 7g/cm3である。
粉状バインダーは、例えば、ポリビュルアルコール（PVA)、カルボキシメチルセル ロース（CMC)、メチルセルロース（MC)、澱粉、プルラン、ゼラチンなどを使用するこ とがでさる。
[0029] 猫砂 30は、 4. Omm径の多数の孔と、 10mmの厚さを有するスクリーンを備えた、 いわゆる縦型押出し造粒機により造粒される。このスクリーンは、孔の径が 4. Ommと 大きいので、造粒物の粒径を大きくでき、さらに、厚さは、 10mmと厚いので、スクリー ンの孔を通過させて造粒を行うときに、造粒物に強い圧力がかかり、造粒物の嵩密度 を 0. 7g/cm3とすることができる。なお、スクリーンは、孔径が 3. 5乃至 4. 5 mmであり、厚さが 6. 0乃至 13mmであることが好ましぐこの範囲であれば、粒径や 嵩密度が大き 、造粒物を得ることができる。
[0030] 猫砂 30は、上述の造粒機によって、粉状ゼォライトが粉状バインダーと共に、加水 され、強い圧力により固められるので、粉状ゼォライトの吸水性を低下させることがで き、さらに、造粒物が固く締まって重いので、粉が舞うことが少なぐ猫が砂をかけると きも、トイレ容器 1の外に飛び散って汚さない。
猫砂 30は、その表面に、低吸水部 30aと撥水部 30bとがある。低吸水部 30aは、造 粒のときに、粉状ゼォライトが固く締まっているために、低吸水性となる部分である。 撥水部 30bは、造粒された後に、所望の撥水剤を噴霧することにより、撥水性となる 部分である。撥水部 30bは、猫砂 30の表面積の 30乃至 70%を占めている。
[0031] 猫砂 30は、その表面積に占める撥水部 30bの割合を調整することにより、液通過 率を調整することができ、例えば、厚みが 5cm程度であるときには、液通過率が 95% 以上となる。このため、猫砂 30は、その表面に猫の尿が接触しても、表面積の 30乃 至 70%が撥水性であるので、この尿は、猫砂 30や中敷ネット 20を素早く通過し、高 吸水シート 10に吸収される。
[0032] また、猫砂 30は、例えば、トイレ容器 1に約 3. 0L (約 2. 7kg)敷いて、実際に猫に 使用してみたところ（1日当たり 80mL程度の排尿）、約 40日間使用しても、尿の臭い が殆どな力つた。
[0033] つぎに、処理材セット 100の使用方法について説明する。 まず、トイレ容器 1の底部に、高吸水シート 10を敷く。つぎに、高吸水シート 10の上 【こ、中敷才ヽッ卜 20を均一【こ被せる。そして、中敷才ヽッ卜 20の上【こ、猫砂 30を 3〜5. 0c mの高さになる程度に入れる。
処理材セット 100は、 1層式のペット用トイレ 50に使用され、上述したように、猫砂 3 0は約 40日間使用でき、高吸水シート 10は 5〜7日間使用できる。
[0034] 図 5は、高吸水シート 10や猫砂 30を取り替えるときの状態を示す図である。
飼い主は、中敷ネット 20を手でつかんで、猫砂 30を包み込んだ状態で持ち上げた 後に、高吸水シート 10を新しいものと取り替える。なお、中敷ネット 20は、約 60 X 60 cmの大きさで約 5. Okg以上の重量に耐えることができる。
[0035] また、飼い主は、猫砂 30の吸水能力が損なわれてしまう前に新しいものに取り替え る必要がある。そこで、飼い主は、処理材セット 100を使用開始して約 40日経過した ときに、上述したように、中敷ネット 20を手でつかんで、猫砂 30ごと持ち上げた後に、 猫砂 30を袋等に詰めて捨てる。このとき、猫砂 30は、猫の尿を吸収しているが、中敷 ネット 20に包み込まれているので、猫砂 30が飼い主の手に付着することもなぐ猫砂 30を清潔かつ容易に捨てることができる。
[0036] このように、実施例 1の処理材セット 100によれば、以下のような効果がある。
(1)高吸水シート 10は、高吸水性榭脂 13、パルプ 14、カーボン材 15、抗菌剤の含 有量が通常のものよりも多ぐ 30 X 45cmの大きさで 5〜7日間、高吸水性、抗菌性、 脱臭性を維持できる。
(2)中敷ネット 20は、縦糸 21と横糸 22とが重ねられ、接点 23で接着剤により接着さ れているので、通常の編み込まれているものと異なり、ほつれることがなぐ長期間使 用することができる。
(3)中敷ネット 20は、猫砂 30を持ち上げても破れることがなぐさら〖こ、猫砂 30が中 敷ネット 20に包み込まれるので、猫砂 30が飼い主の手に付着することがなぐ猫砂 3 0や高吸水シート 10を安心して取り替えることができる。
(4)猫砂 30は、その表面に撥水部 30bがあるので、猫の尿が撥水部 30bに接触する と、この尿は、猫砂 30に吸収されずに、素早く中敷ネット 20を通過するので、高吸水 シート 10に吸収されやすくできる。 (5)猫砂 30は、その表面に低吸水部 30aがあるので、猫の尿が低吸水部 30aに接触 すると、この尿は、猫砂 30の表面に付着し、表面張力により液滴となったとしても、こ の液滴は吸収されるので、猫砂 30の表面には尿が残り難ぐ尿の臭いを抑えることが できる。
実施例 2
[0037] 図 6は、本発明による処理材セット 100の実施例 2を示す図である。図 6 (a)は、処 理材セット 100を使用している状態を示す断面図であり、図 6 (b)は、高吸水シート 10 を取り替える状態を示す図である。
処理材セット 100は、ここでは、トイレ容器 1とすのこ状容器 40と力 なる 2層式のぺ ット用トイレ 50Aに使用されている。すのこ状容器 40は、トイレ容器 1の内部に配置さ れ、その底部に複数の孔があり、猫の尿を通過させるものである。
[0038] 処理材セット 100は、図 6 (a)に示すように、トイレ容器 1の底部に配置された高吸水 シート 10と、すのこ状容器 40上に配置された中敷ネット 20と、中敷ネット 20の上に敷 かれた猫砂 30等とを備えて 、る。
この処理材セット 100が使用されたペット用トイレ 50Aでは、図 6 (b)に示すように、 飼!、主が中敷ネット 20を手でつかんで、猫砂 30を包み込んだ状態で持ち上げた後 に、猫砂 30を捨てることができ、衛生的である。
[0039] このように、処理材セット 100を 2層式のペット用トイレ 50Aに使用することにより、以 下のような効果がある。
(1)すのこ状容器 40を用いることなぐ中敷ネット 20で、猫砂 30を取り替えることがで きる。このとき、飼い主は、すのこ状容器 40に猫の尿が残っていたとしても、すのこ状 容器 40に触れる必要がないので、猫の尿が手に付着することがない。
(2)猫の尿は、猫砂 30と中敷ネット 20を素早く通過して、さらに、すのこ状容器 40を 経て、高吸水シート 10に吸水されるので、猫砂 30や高吸水シート 10の吸水性、抗菌 性が維持されている期間であれば、尿の臭いを抑えることができる。

以上説明した実施例に限定されることなぐ種々の変形や変更が可能であって、そ れらも本発明の均等の範囲内である。 (1)処理材セット 100では、円柱状の猫砂 30を用いて、その表面の一部が撥水部 30 bとなるように撥水剤を噴霧したが、これに限られず、例えば、球状にしてもよぐその 表面に複数の突起部を有する形状にしてもょ 、。
図 7は、猫砂 30の変形例を示す図である。
猫砂 30Aは、図 7 (a)に示すように、その形状が球状であり、例えば、パン型造粒機 により造粒される。猫砂 30Aは、その表面に、低吸水部 30cと撥水部 30dとがある。 猫砂 30Bは、図 7 (b)に示すように、その表面に複数の突起部を有する形状であり、 その表面に、低吸水部 30eと撥水部 30fがある。
このようにすれば、猫砂 30A, 30Bは、猫砂 30と同様に、その表面に尿が残り難ぐ 臭いを抑えることができる。
[0041] (2)処理材セット 100では、中敷ネット 20を用いるようにした力 トイレが 1層式であれ ば、高吸水シート 10を積み重ねて、この高吸水シート 10の上に猫砂 30を直接敷い て、中敷ネット 20を使用しないようにしてもよい。
図 8は、処理材セットの変形例を示す図である。
処理材セット 100Aは、トイレ容器 1Aを用いた 1層式のペット用トイレに使用されるも のであって、例えば、高吸水シート 10a, 10b, 10cと、猫砂 30等とを備えている。 トイレ容器 1Aは、トレイである。高吸水シート 10a, 10b, 10cは、トイレ容器 1Aの底 部に積み重ねられている。猫砂 30は、最表面側に配置された高吸水シート 10aの上 に、直接敷かれている。
このようにすれば、処理材セット 100Aは、高吸水シート 10aを 5〜7日使用した後に 、飼い主が高吸水シート 10aの端を引っ張って、高吸水シート 10aを取り出すことによ り、高吸水シート 10bを最表面側として、その状態でさらに 5〜7日間使用することが できる。なお、高吸水シート 10a, 10b, 10cは、その端に紐を取付ければ、トイレ容 器 1A力 取り出し易くなる。
[0042] (3)処理材セット 100では、高吸水シート 10を取り替えるときに、図 5、図 6 (b)に示す ように、飼い主が中敷ネット 20を手でつかんで、猫砂 30ごと持ち上げるようにしてい た力 これに限られず、中敷ネット 20の周縁部に紐を取付けて引っ張ることにより、袋 状（巾着状）にしてもよい。このようにすれば、飼い主は、紐を引っ張ることで、猫砂 30 を中敷ネット 20で包み込むことができ、高吸水シート 10の取替えを容易に行うことが できる。
(4)トイレ容器 1， 1Aは、トレイ (底の浅い容器）とした力 これに限られず、例えば、各 種の材質で形成された底の深!/、容器であってもよ!/、。

請求の範囲
[1] トイレ容器の底部に配置され、高吸水性と抗菌性とがある高吸水シートと、
前記高吸水シートの上に配置され、液通過性がある通過シートと、
前記通過シートの上に配置され、その表面の一部が低吸水性であり、低吸水性以 外の部分が撥水性である排泄物処理材と、
を備えた愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セット。
[2] 請求項 1に記載の愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セットにぉ 、て、
前記排泄物処理材は、その表面積の 30乃至 70%に撥水性があること、 を特徴とする愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セット。
[3] 請求項 1又は請求項 2に記載の愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セットにおいて、
前記排泄物処理材は、その液通過率が 95%以上であること、
を特徴とする愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セット。
[4] 請求項 1から請求項 3までの 、ずれか 1項に記載の愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セッ トにおいて、
前記排泄物処理材は、粉状ゼォライト 85乃至 95重量部、粉状バインダー 5乃至 15 重量部を含有する混合物の造粒物であり、
前記造粒物は、粒径及び長さが 3. 5乃至 5. 5mm,嵩密度が 0. 7g/cm3以上 であること、
を特徴とする愛玩動物用排泄物処理材セット。
