  • organic EL devices organic electroluminescence devices
  • Inorganic EL elements have been used as planar light sources, but an AC high voltage is required to drive the light emitting elements.
  • an organic EL device has a structure in which a light emitting layer containing a compound that emits light is sandwiched between a cathode and an anode, and excitons (excitons) are injected by injecting electrons and holes into the light emitting layer and recombining them.
  • Known techniques for organic EL devices as described above include, for example, doping a stilbene derivative, distyrylarylene derivative or tristyrylarylene derivative with a small amount of a phosphor to improve emission luminance and extend the lifetime of the device.
  • Patent Document 1 devices having an organic light emitting layer doped with a trace amount of phosphor as a host compound using 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum complex (for example, Patent Document 1) 2), 8-Hydro
  • Patent Document 3 a device having an organic light emitting layer in which a quinacridone-based dye is doped with a xyquinoline aluminum complex as a host compound (see, for example, Patent Document 3), and all of these technologies have a high fluorescence quantum yield.
  • the phosphor By doping the phosphor, the light emission brightness is improved compared to conventional devices.
  • the light emitted from the above-mentioned trace amount of the phosphor is emitted from the excited singlet, and when the light emitted from the excited singlet is used, the generation specific force of the singlet exciton and the triplet exciton is obtained. Since S 1: 3, the generation probability of luminescent excited species is 25%, and the light extraction efficiency is about 20%, so the limit of external extraction quantum efficiency (r? Ext) is 5%. Has been. However, research on materials that exhibit phosphorescence at room temperature has become active since the report of organic EL devices using phosphorescence emission of Princeton's strong excitation triplet force (for example, see Non-Patent Document 1).
  • Non-Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 4. Since the upper limit of internal quantum efficiency is 100% when 0 excited triplet is used, in principle, the luminous efficiency is higher than that of excited singlet. It has attracted attention as it has a maximum of 4 times the same performance as a cold-cathode tube and can be applied to lighting.

  • various electron transport materials are used as phosphorescent compound hosts by doping them with a novel iridium complex (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 4).
  • high luminous efficiency is obtained by introducing a hole blocking layer (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 5).
  • a white light-emitting element when producing a white light-emitting element, a plurality of light-emitting compounds having different emission maximum wavelengths must be installed in the light-emitting layer, particularly in the case of a phosphorescent light-emitting element. It is difficult to deposit a plurality of phosphorescent dopants at the same ratio each time by the vacuum deposition method, and it is expected that there will be a problem in the yield during production. If it is possible to produce organic EL devices by printing or coating methods, it is the same for any organic EL device manufactured by preparing a solution in which phosphorescent dopants are mixed in the same ratio. A phosphorescent dopant in a proportion can be contained, and a white light-emitting organic EL element having the same emission color can be stably produced.
  • Examples of coating methods include, for example, PPV, a light-emitting material that is a polymer such as polyalkylfluorene derivative (PAF) (see, for example, Non-Patent Documents 7 and 8), polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, PVK, and the like.

Chem.
