Abstract

The invention relates to a device comprising an essentially vertical upper part (2) and a horizontal lower part (3) which are interconnected. Said two parts (2, 3) are at a pre-determined angle in relation to each other. The upper part (2) forms a back rest and the lower part (3) is embodied in such a way as to be inserted between the slats and the mattress of a bed. At least one of the lateral edges of the lower part (3) is extended by a bedside tabletop (5, 5'). The bed mattress is used as a seat.
