Description

The invention relates to a convertible seat module bed and an assembly kit of such a seat.

Document is known US 2013 / 255044A1 describes a furniture system with at least one furniture and another furniture unit, the other furniture unit being relatively positionable relative to the furniture.

Generally, convertible sofas bed include a first bed base constituting the seat and a second bed frame constituting the back of the sofa, and a base on which rests the seat. The two mattresses are articulated so that the second bed frame pivots between a raised position in which it constitutes the sofa back, and a lowered position in which it forms with the first mattress a continuous bed.

Many models of sofa and convertible armchair in bed are already known. However, all known models are generally heavy and bulky, which not only complicates their transport but also increases the size.

In addition, models incorporating a folded mattress inside the couch when the latter is in the couch position generally have a lower comfort in sleeping than the comfort of a traditional bed. The deterioration of the sleeping comfort is generally due to the reduced thickness of the mattress used, the thickness of the mattress being limited according to the housing provided for the mattress once the sofa folded. The degradation of comfort is also due to the crushing of the mattress in the seat when the sofa is folded. Indeed, crushing reduces flexibility and elasticity over time, and therefore the damping capacity of the mattress.

Known models also have a limited choice in form and style and are often not very aesthetic.

The invention proposes to solve the aforementioned problems by providing a seat as defined in claim 1, convertible into a modular structure bed allowing a variety of different configurations and to facilitate transport.

According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a modular seat convertible into a bed comprising a seat, a backrest and at least one mechanical joint mounted between the seat and the backrest able to rotate the backrest between a raised position and a lowered position.

According to a general characteristic of the invention, the seat and the backrest each have a modular structure, the seat comprising at least a first elementary module and the backrest comprising at least a second elementary module, the first and the second elementary modules comprising each of the reversible securing means for the reversible attachment of an additional elementary module.

The securing means make it possible, on the one hand, to thereby secure a first elementary module with an additional elementary module which is preferably another first elementary module and, on the other hand, to secure a second elementary module with an additional elementary module which is preferably another second elementary module. The seat can thus be modulated in different configurations to form for example an armchair, a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa or a corner sofa.

The securing means being reversible, the seat can easily be reconfigured, or even disassembled in basic modules which facilitates its transport compared to a traditional sofa bed.

Preferably, the seat comprises a cushion per elementary module, each cushion having the same thickness.

The use of a cushion per module makes it easier to transport the seat when it is disassembled. A mattress is all the more difficult to wear and handle because it is large and thick, not only because of the weight but also because of its flexibility. By splitting the mattress into modules, transport is facilitated and space is reduced as the cushions can be stacked or separated for transport.

In addition, the use of a cushion per module makes it easy to change the configuration of the seat by adding or removing a module and its cushion.

The use of cushions of the same thickness makes it possible to ensure that, when the backrest is pivoted into the lowered position so that the seat forms a bed, the mattress formed by the cushions has a uniform thickness.

Advantageously, the elementary modules may include feet, at least one of the feet of the module (s) elementary (s) forming the folder being retractable.

The retractable nature of the feet of the elementary modules forming the backrest, that is to say the second elementary modules, allows, firstly, to prevent the feet from coming out or being visible when the seat back is rotated in the raised position, and, secondly, to maintain the backrest at the same height as the seat when pivoted in the lowered position and the first modules forming the seat include feet.

The feet may advantageously comprise rollers to improve the mobility of the convertible modular seat when assembled.

Advantageously, the seat may comprise a front panel adapted to be reversibly fixed to said module (s) elementary (s) forming the seat of the seat so as to close at least partially the space next to the face of the module (s) forming the seat without cushions.

The front panel can improve the aesthetics of the seat including hiding feet.

Preferably, the front panel comprises a plurality of panel portions assembled into a foldable structure.

The realization of the front panel in a plurality of panel portions articulated relative to each other reduces the space when the seat is disassembled for transport. The reduction in size is notable for a sofa two or three places for example.

The seat may also include a rear panel adapted to be reversibly fixed to said module (s) elementary (s) forming the seat back so as to close at least the face of the or elementary module (s) forming the backrest without a cushion when the backrest is in the raised position.

The rear panel improves the aesthetics of the seat by hiding the entire back of the backrest, corresponding to the underside of the backrest when the backrest is rotated in the lowered position. Thus, the seat can be placed in the middle of a room without the aesthetics is affected, the legs retracted and the seat structure is hidden by the rear panel.

The rear panel is removed when the backrest is rotated to the lowered position to form the bed.

Preferably, the back panel comprises a plurality of panel portions assembled into a foldable structure.

The realization of the rear panel in a plurality of portions of hinged panels reduces the size and thus to store the folded back panel more easily, especially when the convertible modular seat is in the bed position, position in which the rear panel n ' is not attached to the seat.

The seat may advantageously comprise two lateral modules able to be reversibly secured to a first elementary module.

The side panels allow to hide the seat structure on the side parts. They also allow to provide possible armrests for the seat and / or headboard.

The use of the reversible fastening means allows to mount and dismount the side panels at leisure, and reduce the number of mounting parts.

Advantageously, each lateral module may comprise two portions articulated with respect to each other so as to fold the lateral module.

The realization of the lateral modules in two articulated portions makes it possible to reduce the bulk of the lateral modules when they are disassembled, the lateral module measuring in the folded state a fraction of its dimension in the unfolded state.

In a variant, the embodiment of the lateral modules in two articulated portions can make it possible to use a lateral module in the folded state as an armrest when the convertible seat is in the raised position and forms a seat, and to use the same lateral module to the unfolded state as a headboard when the convertible seat is in the lowered position to form a bed.

Preferably, the cushions have the same dimensions. It is thus possible to use the same cushions for the seat or the backrest.

In one embodiment, the first (s) and second (s) elementary modules are identical.

By having first and second identical modules, editing is facilitated and the number of possible configurations increased.

The elementary modules can each include a flexible slatted frame to support the cushions.

In addition, the cushions can be removable to facilitate the washing of the cushion covers and / or allow a change of cover.

According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided an elementary module configured to belong to a modular seat convertible into a bed as defined above, the elementary module being intended to be used as a first or a second elementary module or a module. additional elementary module.

It is also proposed an assembly kit of a modular seat convertible into a bed as defined above.

  • la figure 1 représente, de manière schématique, une vue éclatée en perspective d'un siège modulable convertible en lit selon un mode de réalisation de l'invention ;
Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear on examining the detailed description of an embodiment of the invention which is in no way limitative, and the appended drawings, in which:
  • the figure 1 schematically represents an exploded perspective view of a modular convertible bed seat according to one embodiment of the invention;
  • the figure 2 represents a perspective view from above of the seat illustrated on the figure 1 converted to bed.

On the figure 1 is schematically represented an exploded perspective view of a modular seat convertible into a bed according to one embodiment of the invention.

In particular, the figure 1 has a three-seater sofa convertible into a bed according to a first embodiment of the invention.

Le canapé modulable comprend une assise 1 comportant trois premiers modules élémentaires 2 et un dossier 3 comportant trois seconds modules élémentaires 4.The modular sofa comprises a seat 1 comprising three first elementary modules 2 and a backrest 3 comprising three second elementary modules 4.

The sofa also includes hinges 5 notch. Each notch hinge 5 is fixed to a first elementary module 2 and a second elementary module 4 so as to allow the articulation of the second elementary module 4 with respect to the first elementary module 2. Each first elementary module 2 is thus hingedly attached. to a second elementary module 4 using a pair of detent hinges 5.

The detent hinges 5 make it possible to pivot the second elementary module 4 with respect to the first elementary module 2 to which it is attached between a lowered position in which the first and the second elementary modules 2 and 4 are attached together via the two notched hinges 5 are adjacent and form a flat angle of 180 °, and a raised position in which the second elementary module 4 forms an angle less than 180 °, and more particularly an angle of between 90 ° and 120 ° with the first elementary module 2 to which it is attached via the two notched hinges 5.

The hinges 5 notch further allow to block the second elementary module 4 in the raised position when desired.

In the embodiment illustrated on the figure 1 the first and second elementary modules are identical.

In variants, the first and second elementary modules may have different characteristics such as different dimensions or fixed feet for some and retractable feet for others.

In the embodiment illustrated on the figure 1 , the elementary modules, that is to say the first and second elementary modules, 2 and 4 each comprise a fixed rigid frame 6 made of wood. The frame 6 has a hollow parallelepipedal shape formed from two longitudinal uprights 7 and two crosspieces 8. Each elemental module 2 and 4 further comprises flexible slats 9 each end of which is fixed to a longitudinal upright 7 so as to form with the frame 6 a portion of box spring.

The elementary modules 2 and 4 also include retractable legs. Each foot 10 can thus be placed in a position of use in which the foot 10 is out so as to raise the elementary module 2 or 4, or in a retracted position in which the foot 10 is retracted into the frame 6, the module elementary 2 or 4 then resting directly on the frame 6.

On the figure 1 , the feet 10 of the first elementary modules 2 forming the seat 1 are in the use position and allow to base the first elementary modules 2 on the ground via the feet 10. In contrast, the feet 10 of the second elementary modules 4 forming the backrest 3 of the couch shown on the figure 1 are in the retracted position, and are therefore hidden inside the frame 6 of each second elementary module 4.

The feet 10 may also comprise rollers, not shown on the figure 1 , at the free ends of the feet 10 to facilitate the movement of the elementary modules or the seat once assembled.

Each elementary module 2 and 4 further comprises reversible securing means 11 intended for the reversible attachment of an additional elementary module 2 or 4. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. figure 1 , the reversible securing means 11 comprise a pin 12 and a mortise made in the form of a complementary cavity 13. Each imprint 13 is made in the frame 6 of each elementary module 2 or 4 so as to face an imprint 13 of an elementary module 2 or 4 adjacent.

Each cavity 13 has a dovetail shaped, that is to say a trapezoidal basic shape with the small base b formed on the outside of the frame 6 and the large base B on the inside of the frame 6 elementary module 2 or 4. The large base B of a footprint 13 is thus hollowed on the inner face of a longitudinal upright 7 so as to be opposite the opposite longitudinal amount 7 of the same frame 6, while the small base b is hollowed on the outer face of the longitudinal upright 7 so as to be opposite any other elementary module 2 or 4.

The post 12 has a double dovetail shape. The stud 12 thus has a shape complementary to two cavities 13 facing one another. The post 12 thus makes it possible to cooperate with two adjacent indentations 13 facing one another and thus to secure the two elementary modules 2 or 4 arranged side by side.

The tenon 12 and the cavity 13 thus form a dovetail mechanical connection preventing two adjacent elementary modules 2 or 4 from separating laterally from one another.

It is not beyond the scope of the invention when using other reversible securing means such as a mortise or slot cooperating with a perforated tenon which is inserted into the mortise and an ankle inserted into the slot. element of the frame in which the slot is made so as to pass through the mortise and tenon.

It is also not within the scope of the invention when the reversible fastening means are padlock closures comprising a portion projecting on one side of an elementary module intended to cooperate with a complementary cavity made on an opposite side of the module. elementary so that the projecting portion of an elementary module cooperates with the complementary cavity of an adjacent module.

The use of the reversible fastening means 11 illustrated on the figure 1 having a peg 12 cooperating with a recess 13, or equivalent reversible securing means allow to easily and quickly assemble / disassemble elementary modules 2 or 4 together without tools.

The modular sofa further comprises cushions 15 intended to be placed on or against the flexible slats 9 of an elementary module 2 or 4. The cushions 15 are held in position by means of a fastening tab integral with the cushion 15 and adapted to be attached to an element of an elementary module 2 or 4 such as a flexible batten 9. The tongue can be fixed using a zipper or a self-gripping tape.

Alternatively, the cushions may include a zipper portion on a side edge of the cushion for contacting a bed frame portion and an adjacent cushion. In this way, two adjacent cushions can be secured to one another by means of the complementary zipper portions disposed on each of the two cushions.

In the illustrated embodiment, the cushions 15 all have the same thickness. In this way, when the backrest 3 is lowered, that is to say when the second modules 4 are pivoted in the lowered position, the visible surface of the cushions 15 intended to receive at least one user is at the same height on any the surface. The visible surface intended to be in contact with a user is therefore uniform.

The length and width of a cushion 15 correspond to the length and width of the frame 6 of an elementary module 2 or 4 so as to cover the entire surface of the elementary module 2 or 4.

Le coussin 15 positionné debout dépassera alors en hauteur par rapport au cadre 6 du second module élémentaire 4 d'une hauteur égale à l'épaisseur des coussins 15.In the embodiment illustrated on the figure 1 the first and second elementary modules 2 and 4 are identical. The cushions 15 are assembled in such a way that, in the raised position, for each pair of first and second elementary modules 2 and 4, a cushion 15 is positioned flat, horizontally, so as to completely cover the first elementary module 2 and a cushion 15 is positioned upright, vertically, against the second elementary module 4 and on the cushion 15 resting flat on the first elementary module 2. The cushion 15 standing position will then exceed in height relative to the frame 6 of the second elementary module 4 with a height equal to the thickness of the cushions 15.

En variante, la configuration des coussins 15 pourraient être réalisée de manière à ce que ce soit le coussin 15 reposant sur le premier module élémentaire 2 qui dépasse du premier module élémentaire 2.Alternatively, the configuration of the cushions 15 could be made so that it is the cushion 15 resting on the first elementary module 2 which protrudes from the first elementary module 2.

In another variant, it is possible to have different dimensions between the first elementary modules 2 forming the seat 1 and the second elementary modules 4 forming the backrest 3 so that the cushion 15 standing does not exceed in height relative to the second elementary module 4 and that the cushion 15 positioned flat does not exceed the frame 6 of the first elementary module 2.

For this, when considering that the length of a module is measured in the direction in which a first and a second modules 2 and 4 are aligned when they are assembled together, the first modules 2 forming the seat 1 have a length equal to the sum of the length of a cushion 15 with the thickness of a cushion 15, and the second modules 4 forming the backrest 3 have a length equal to the difference between the length of a cushion 15 and the thickness of a cushion 15.

On the figure 2 is illustrated a perspective view from above of the modular sofa convertible into bed of the figure 1 . As illustrated, the cushions 15 define two coating zones of equal width, equivalent to the length of a cushion, and of equal length, equivalent to the length of three cushions. That the first and second elementary modules 2 and 4 have equal or different dimensions, as long as the total length of a first elementary module 2 assembled with a second elementary module 4 is equal to the length of two identical cushions 15, the zone of Sleeping the couch will define two separate and equal sleeping areas.

On the figure 2 , the feet 10 of the second elementary modules 4 forming the backrest 3 of the seat when it is in the raised position are extended so as to rest the backrest 3 on the feet 10.

In the embodiment illustrated on the figure 1 , the sofa further comprises side modules 16 having two panel portions 17 assembled together using a hinge 18 such as hinges. The articulations 18 make it possible to form a coupling between the two adjacent portions 17 and to pivot a portion 17 with respect to the other between an open position in which the two portions 17 are aligned together forming a flat angle of 180 ° and a folded position in which the two portions 17 form a zero angle.

Each lateral module 16 can thus be folded during transport so as to reduce its bulk.

Each portion 17 of the lateral modules 16 comprises a pin 19 fixed on the portion 17 and whose dovetail shape is complementary to the indentations 13. The pin 19 of each portion 17 is disposed on the portion 17 so as to allow the joining together of the portion 17 corresponding to a first elementary module 17. Each elementary module 16 then forms an armrest.

Ces empreintes 13 réalisées dans la traverse 8 permettent de former un canapé d'angle en assemblant par exemple un premier module élémentaire supplémentaire devant l'un des premiers modules élémentaires 2 à l'aide d'un tenon 12 des moyens de solidarisation 11.As illustrated on the figure 1 each elementary module 2 or 4 also comprises indentations 13 made in the same manner as for the securing means 11 in the cross member 8 without hinges 5 notch, that is to say a free cross 8. These cavities 13 made in the crosspiece 8 make it possible to form a corner sofa by assembling, for example, a first additional elementary module in front of one of the first elementary modules 2 by means of a tenon 12 of the securing means 11.

The modular sofa further comprises a front panel 20 having three portions 21 of panels assembled together by means of hinges 22 such as hinges. The joints 22 make it possible to couple between two adjacent portions 21 and pivoting a portion 21 relative to the other between an open position in which the two portions 21 are aligned together forming a 180 ° flat angle and a folded position in which the two portions are superimposed forming a zero angle.

The front panel 20 can be folded during transport so as to reduce its bulk.

Each portion 21 of the front panel 16 comprises at least one cavity 13 formed in an upper portion of the portion. The impression 13 cooperates with a tenon 12 of a securing means 11 and an impression 13 made in a free crossmember 8 of a first elementary module 2 forming the seat 1 for reversibly fixing the front panel 16 to the sitting 1.

In an embodiment involving a chair formed from a single first elementary module and a single second elementary module, the dimensions of the first and second elementary modules may be different to allow to obtain a sufficient sleeping area when the second elementary module is in the lowered position. Either an additional elementary module and an additional cushion may be added following the first and second elementary modules aligned in the bed position to increase the sleeping area. In the latter case, the additional elementary module is easily and quickly secured to one of the first and second elementary modules by means of a pin 12 and indentations 13 made in the crosspieces 8.

In one embodiment in which the modular seat convertible into a bed forms a couch in the raised position and therefore does not include armrests, the side modules 16 may be of the same height as the front panel 20 and have securing means 11 similar with an impression made in an upper part of the lateral modules 16 and tenons 12.

The invention thus provides a convertible bed seat modular structure allowing a variety of different configurations and to facilitate transport. Such a seat also makes it possible to renew the style of the convertible seat from the modification one or more visible elements constituting the seat as the (or) panel (s) and / or cushions covers.
