Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for applying a liquid medium to a material web, which has an application device, in whose reservoir the liquid medium is accommodated, and a fixing device for fixing the liquid applied to the material web by the application device liquid, and a method for Application of a liquid medium to a material web, in which the material web is fed to an application device containing the liquid medium to be applied, and the liquid medium applied to the material web is fixed in a fixing device.
- Such an apparatus and method are known.
- the material web stored in a material receiving device is fed to the application device, in which application of the liquid medium accommodated in a reservoir of the application device the material web takes place.
- the material web is guided through a bath of the liquid medium.
- the known device and the known method that over the liquid medium receiving reservoir of the applicator squeezing rollers are arranged, which strip the excess liquid from the web and lead back to the reservoir.
- Such a procedure has the disadvantage that a change in the consistency and / or the constancy of the liquid medium present in the reservoir of the applicator occurs as a result of the recirculated medium.
- Another disadvantage of the known procedure is the fact that the liquid medium applied to the material web has a relatively high residual moisture, which is typically between 40-70%. This means that in the subsequent fixing device, the liquid medium applied to the material web must be dried strongly in order to stabilize the application.
- the fixation of the liquid medium on the material web is carried out by a heat application, in particular by steam or in a heat chamber, in which the treated as described above with the liquid medium material web is introduced and therein a corresponding must stay for a long time.
- a heat application in particular by steam or in a heat chamber
- the treated as described above with the liquid medium material web is introduced and therein a corresponding must stay for a long time.
- heat chambers have the disadvantage that they not only have a large amount of space, which leads disadvantageously in that the known devices build voluminous.
- Another, even more serious disadvantage of the known procedure is that the heating chambers require a long preheating time and / or a long cooling time.
- the fixing device has at least one ultrasonic unit, by which the liquid medium applied to the material web can be acted upon by ultrasonic vibrations, wherein the ultrasound unit has a working surface which is opposed by a feed device against a working surface of a her Counter bearing is movable.
- the method according to the invention provides that the material web treated in this way is fed to the fixing device and subjected to ultrasonic vibrations there.
- the energy input into the fixing device is effected by the ultrasonic vibrations generated by the ultrasound unit.
- Such a measure has the advantage that such a procedure is characterized by low energy consumption, since heating chambers or steaming are now generally no longer necessary or at least significantly shortened.
- the treated with the liquid medium material web between a working surface of the ultrasonic unit and an abutment is performed, and that the working surface of the ultrasonic unit is pressed with a certain contact pressure on the web.
- Such a measure has the advantage that this results in mechanical loading of the material web coated with the liquid medium.
- the vibrations of the working surface of the ultrasound unit caused by the ultrasonic vibrations counteract in an advantageous manner also a clamping of the material web clamped between the ultrasound unit and the anvil, so that a further transport of the material web is ensured.
- an advantageous development of the invention provides that the application device has an application element, by means of which the liquid medium to be applied can be removed from the storage container of the application device and applied to the material web.
- the application of the liquid medium to the material web to be treated by means of the application element is to be metered much more accurately than is the case in the known processes in which the material web has been passed through a liquid bath.
- the liquid medium can be applied to the material web in a targeted manner, as a result of which the up to now unavoidable application of excess medium is prevented or at least reduced.
- the procedure is that after fixing it is not or only to a lesser extent necessary to wash out excess medium.
- the measures according to the invention are thus characterized by a high level of environmental compatibility.
- a further advantageous development of the invention provides that the device has a turning device for the material web. Such a measure has the advantage that in this way first a first side of the material web of the applicator and then a second side of the material web of this device can be supplied. As a result, a two-sided application of the liquid medium to the material web is possible in an advantageous manner.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the device has two applicators, which are connected in series, wherein the turning device is arranged between the two applicators.
- Such a measure has the advantage that it is thereby possible to pressurize the two sides of the material web with different liquid media.
- This measure is particularly advantageous if the liquid medium is a color, as this can be made in a simple manner, a material web having different colors on its two sides.
- a further advantageous development of the invention provides that at least one application element of at least one application unit has a contoured surface. This makes it possible in an advantageous manner that also patterns or the like can be applied, so a kind of printing on the web.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a first exemplary embodiment
- Figure 3 a view of the embodiment of Figure 2 from the direction III. of Figure 2, and
- Figure 4 a schematic representation of a third embodiment.
- FIG. 1 shows a first exemplary embodiment of a device 1 for applying a liquid medium to a material web M.
- the device 1 described is particularly suitable for applying liquid paint F to the material web M.
- color F instead of the more general term “liquid medium”
- the following statements are not limited exclusively to liquid colors in the narrower sense, but instead also for the application and / or introduction of other liquid media such as coatings, finishes, etc. validity.
- the material web M received in a material pick-up unit, not shown in FIG. 1, is guided to an application device 2, in which the paint F to be applied is contained in a reservoir 3, not shown.
- an applicator element 4 is provided which removes the amount of color F to be applied in each case from the reservoir 3 and then applies to the material web M or introduces.
- the applicator element 4 has a contact roller 5 and a guide roller 5a interacting with it, the material web M being carried out between the two rollers 5, 5a.
- the contact roller 5 thus rolls the color F removed by it from the storage container 3 onto the material web M.
- Another advantage of the procedure described now is that it can be used with a higher color concentration, since the measures described allow a precisely metered paint application.
- the material web M treated in this way is then guided via further deflecting rollers 6 to a fixing device 7 of the device 1, in which a fixation of the ink F on the material web M is carried out and the dyed material is thereby stabilized.
- an ultrasound unit 8 is used for this purpose, the ultrasound vibrations of which act on the material web M and thus the color applied to it.
- the procedure is such that the ultrasound unit 8 has a working surface 9, which is formed by the effective surface of the ultrasound unit 8.
- the working surface 9 opposite is an abutment 10 is arranged, wherein the material web M between working surface 9 and abutment 10 is passed.
- the working surface 9 and the bearing surface of the abutment 10 are designed to be complementary. If, as in the case shown here, a roller is used as an abutment 10, the working surface 9 of the ultrasound unit 8 is preferably designed in a circular arc. But it is also possible to use a newly executed abutment 10. Then it is preferred that the working surface 9 of the ultrasonic unit 8 is plate-shaped.
- the working surface 9 of the ultrasonic unit 8 is pressed by a feed device not shown in Figure 1 against the support surface of the thrust bearing 10 and thus against the material web M.
- the caused by the ultrasonic vibrations vibrating movement of the working surface 9 now not only causes a removal or at least a very strong reduction of the residual moisture of the applied color F, but also results in a good penetration of the material web M with the color F, so that in an advantageous manner and A high color fastness of the dyed material web M described above is given.
- the energy input into the material web M caused by the ultrasonic vibrations causes the color F to be "glued" to the material web M by the binder.
- disperse dyes When using disperse dyes causes the Ultraschallbeetzschagung that they penetrate deeper into the tissue of the web, this must but then an aftertreatment to fix the disperse dyes are carried out, wherein for fixing a steam at a steam temperature of about 100 ° C or more (especially in polyamide fibers) or a heat treatment in a heat chamber (in particular polyester fibers) is preferred. This is followed by drying, preferably by ultrasound, circulating air or infra-red exposure.
- a second embodiment of a device 1 is shown, whose basic structure corresponds to that of the first embodiment, so that corresponding components provided with the same reference numerals and will not be described in more detail.
- the essential difference between the first and the second embodiment lies in the fact that the second embodiment enables a paint application both on the first side M 'of the material web M and on the opposite side M'.
- the device 1 is made to have the turning device 11 shown schematically in FIG.
