Abstract

Cette invention porte, en général, sur la biologie moléculaire des plantes, et plus spécifiquement sur des procédés et sur des réactifs de l'expression à régulation temporelle et/ou spatiale des gènes qui affectent des taux métaboliquement effectifs des cytokinines dans les plantes, notamment dans les graines et les tissus reproducteurs connexes des plantes femelles. Cette invention porte également sur des plantes transgéniques ayant des taux accrus de l'expression des cytokinines, la plante transgénique présentant des caractéristiques utiles telles que l'augmentation de la grosseur des graines, la diminution de l'avortement de l'amande d'extrémité, l'augmentation de la grenaison sous des conditions environnementales défavorables ou la stabilité de la production. La présente invention porte également sur des compositions et sur des procédés de régulation de l'expression des séquences nucléotidiques hétérologues dans une plante. Les compositions comprennent de nouvelles séquences nucléotidiques pour les promoteurs préférés connus de graines tels que eep1 et eep2. L'invention porte aussi sur un procédé d'expression d'une séquence nucléotidique hétérologue dans une plante utilisant les séquences du promoteur. Le procédé consiste à transformer une cellule de plante de sorte qu'elle comprenne une séquence nucléotidique hétérologue liée de manière fonctionnelle à l'un des promoteurs de l'invention et à régénérer une plante à transformation stable à partir de la cellule transformée.
