Definitions

  • the invention relates to a mattress or pillow made of foam and / or latex or from a corresponding material according to the preamble of the claim. It affects all seating or reclining furniture, mattresses or pillows.
  • Latex or foam mattresses are well known. In order to increase the comfort of these mattresses, mattresses have been brought onto the market which have different designs and / or shapes on their surface.
  • the core of the mattress from a single piece and to arrange recesses in the surface of the mattress at certain points, into which materials with different strength values are inserted than the foam core of the mattress has.

  • the support pads are made of a softer material than the material of the mattress and are arranged in the shoulder area and in the pelvic area of a person lying on the mattress. These support pads ensure a more even pressure distribution in the shoulder and pelvic area and a softer sinking in of the body parts in these areas.
  • a disadvantage is that the inserted support pads have to be manufactured separately and connected to the foam core of the mattress. For this purpose, it is necessary to glue the two foam molds together or to connect them in a different way so that they are not loosely assembled.
  • this adhesive must be designed or made of materials that can be safely used for gluing and that do not outgas afterwards, as this would otherwise result in health disadvantages for people lying on the mattress ,
  • Another disadvantage of this embodiment is that the inserted support pads z. T. are not 100% connected to the foam core, so that they can slip over time, which affects the comfort of the person lying on it.
  • Another disadvantage is that the different materials of the mattress core and the support pads go through different aging processes, whereby either the support pad or the foam core of the mattress loses its support force faster than the second material used. It is usually the support pad that loses spring or support force earlier and thus negatively affects the comfort of the mattress.
