Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine fremdgezündete Kolbenbrennkraftmaschine, mit einem Motorblock, in dem Zylinder (4) jeweils einen Brennraum bilden, der einerseits durch einen Kolben (6) und andererseits durch einen auf einer Abschlußebene des Motorblocks angeordneten Zylinderkopf (7) begrenzt wird, der ein Brennraumdach (8) mit zwei, ausgehend von der Abschlußebene (3) unter einem Winkel gegen eine durch die Zylinderachse (13) definierte Vertikalebene ansteigende, eine Firstlinie bildende Dachflächen (8.1, 8.2) aufweist, an denen jeweils eine Dachfläche (8.1) mit zwei Gaseinlaßöffnungen (9) und die andere mit wenigstens einer Gasauslaßöffnung (11) versehen ist, wobei die Öffnungen jeweils als Ventilsitze für Gaswechselventile (1, 2) ausgebildet sind, und mit einer unterhalb zwischen den beiden Gaseinlaßöffnungen (9) angeordneten Öffnung, in der eine Kraftstoffeinspritzdüse (15) ausmündet, deren Achse (14.1) unter einem Winkel zur Abschlußebene (3) ausgerichtet ist, und mit einer Öffnung für eine Zündkerze (17) im Brennraumdach, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß im Bereich der Ausmündung der Kraftstoffeinspritzdüse (15) die Dachfläche (8.1) des Brennraumdachs (8) einen den Rand des Zylinders (4) in der Abschlußebene (3) überdeckenden, in den Brennraum ragenden Ansatz (16) aufweist, der eine quer zur Achse (14.1) der Kraftstoffeinspritzdüse (15) ausgerichtete, gegenüber der Dachfläche (8.1) steiler abgewinkelte Frontfläche (17) aufweist.
