Definitions
- a cinerary urn which is, according to the wishes, sealed or simply capped before being handed over to relatives to be kept.
- the ashes are generally collected in a metal vase whose stopper can be sealed before being placed in a cinerary urn, of which there is a wide variety of models, in particular in rock or metal.
- Cinerary urns are usually kept individually in a niche of a columbarium or individually in a house.
- the object of the invention is to make modular cinerary urns, stackable in funeral columns in order to obtain a stable, resistant funeral monument, of reduced bulk and having a simple, dignified and elegant shape.
- Another objective of the invention is to manage to manufacture such cylindrical urns from natural stone, quickly, safely and inexpensively.
- a receptacle for a modular cinerary urn made of natural stone comprising a hollow cylindrical plug closed at the upper end by a projecting cover, the lower end comprising a shoulder capable of receiving a closure cap and interlock with the cover of another receptacle.
- the invention is carried out with a receptacle of a cinerary urn made of stone comprising a cylindrical plug hollowed out from a first to a second end and a cover comprising a sealing portion and an assembly portion, the sealing portion closing off the first end of the plug, the protruding assembly portion of said first end, the second end of the plug having an internal counterbore capable of receiving a cover and of fitting onto a protruding assembly portion of the cover of another identical receptacle, to form a funeral column.
- the invention is used by forming a funerary column composed of such receptacles of stone cinerary urns nested one on the other and on a column base having a protruding end portion capable of fitting into the internal countersinking of the second plug end of a receptacle.
- it is planned to implement a method of manufacturing a cinerary urn receptacle from a column turned in natural stone, the method comprising steps consisting in: carrying out a double coaxial coring of the column in a single operation, to form a plug having a cylindrical recess crossing from a first to a second ends and a countersink of an internal portion of one recess.
- FIG. 2 represents views in axial section of receptacles of cinerary urns stacked in column, according to the invention
- FIGS. 3 and 4 represent views of the bottom, respectively from below and from above, of receptacle of stackable cinerary urn, according to the invention
- - Figure 5 shows a cavalier top view of column base capable of receiving a stack of receptacles for cinerary urns, according to one ivention
- - Figure 6 shows a front view of funerary column composed of a stack of four receptacles for cinerary urns on a column base, according to the invention
- FIG. 1 represents views in axial section of receptacles of cinerary urns stacked in column
- FIGS. 3 and 4 represent views of the bottom, respectively from below and from above, of receptacle of stackable cinerary urn, according to the invention
- - Figure 5 shows a cavalier top view of column base
- FIG. 7 represents, a side view from above of a funeral column composed of a base and two receptacles for cinerary urns stacked, according to the invention
- FIG. 8 illustrates an overall view in situation of several funeral columns comprising stacks of receptacles for cinerary urns, according to the invention.
- Figures 9 to 14 show coring steps of the method of manufacturing a cinerary urn receptacle in natural stone, according to the invention.
- the urn receptacle 10 will, when completed, be closed at a first end 16 of the plug 11 by the cover 12.
- the urn receptacle 10 is then intended to be closed at a second end 18 by a cover 20.
- the cover 12 is formed from a stone disc of intermediate diameter between the outer diameter and the inner diameter of the corresponding plug 11.
- the disc is felled or notched laterally over a portion of its height, for example over half of the height, to form a shoulder 15 capable of abutting against the end 16 of the plug.
- the cover 12 is therefore notched so as to present a cylindrical sealing portion 14 of section equal to or slightly less than the internal section 17 hollowed out of the plug 11.
- the size of the cover 12 therefore provides a shoulder 15 between this distal sealing portion 14 of reduced section and a second distal portion 13 of higher section which has an assembly function, as explained below.
- the cover 12 is first fitted and sealed at the first end 16 (upper end in FIGS. 1 and 2) of the plug 11.
- the sealing is carried out using a mortar, a cement, a glue or a resin, in particular using an epoxy glue.
- the assembly portion 13 projects from the first end 16 of the plug 11, as shown in FIG. 4.
- such a sealing makes it possible to ensure the seal and the integrity of the closure of the receptacle 10 at one end 16.
- Figures 1 to 3 show in fact that the cylindrical walls of the plug 11 are thinned on the internal side 17 at a distal portion 19 corresponding to the second end 18 of the receptacle 10.
- the internal surface of the plug is laminated by turning or preferably by coring, on a distal portion 19 of height greater than the height of the assembly portion 13 projecting from the cover 12.
- the distal portion 19 'laminated with a receptacle 10' must receive a cylindrical cover 20 'of a certain thickness (or axial height) and then fit onto the assembly portion 13 projecting from the cover 12 of another receptacle 10 identical to the receptacle 10'.
- the countersinking is carried out to a depth (radial wall thickness) such that the distal portion 19 of the receptacle 10 has a section equal to or slightly greater than the section of the assembly portion 13 of the cover 12.
- the funeral urn receptacle according to the invention is made of natural stone.
- the material of natural stone is advantageously chosen from, granites, sandstones, basalts, marbles, marble stones and limestone or any other stone in use in the funeral industry.
- the same natural stone is adopted for the bushels 11 and the corresponding covers 12 of a column.
- the invention provides for manufacturing a bushel of a cinerary urn receptacle in a single coring operation.
- FIG. 11 shows that the through cylindrical recess 17 and the countersinking of a distal portion 19 of a plug, are obtained in a single coring step, using a pair of coring machines 101, 102 mounted coaxially and secured to a shaft 103.
- a core drilling machine has a frequency of rotation such that the linear speed of the diamond tubular crown is close to a value determined by the nature of the material. The nominal speed of rotation of a core drilling machine therefore depends on its diameter.
- the two paired core drilling machines 101, 102 have diameters close to Dl and D2, which makes it possible to rotate the assembly 100 at a speed close to the nominal speed corresponding to each of the diameters Dl and D2 to effectively tap.
- the core drilling machine Dl which performs the recess 17 of the plug and the core drilling machine D2 which counterbores the distal portion 19 of the plug are mounted coaxially on the shaft 103 with an axial offset equal to or greater than the height bushel less the height of the distal portion 19 to be counterbored.
- the manufacture of the covers and lids of the cinerary urn receptacle, according to the invention is also carried out by coring.
- a cover disc 20 for receptacle 10 it is thus planned to manufacture a cover disc 20 for receptacle 10, according to the invention, by cutting a plate 220 of natural stone, in particular a cut stone or a lamellar stone of centimetric thickness, by coring of internal diameter. D3 intermediate between the diameter D1 of the recess and the diameter D2 of the countersink 19 of each bushel.
- This latter coring is carried out with a core drilling machine 300 of internal diameter D4 equal to or slightly less than the diameter Dl of the recess of each bushel 11, so that the sealing portion 14 of the cover obtained is inserted and fitted into the recess 17.
- a tubular core drilling machine 300 is used whose external diameter D5 is greater than the diameter D3 of the cover disc so as to advantageously draw up a perfectly flat shoulder 15 in a single operation.
- the ashes or the metal vase containing the ashes can be inserted into the receptacle for a cinerary urn 10 according to the invention, before being closed by the cover 20.
- the vase is mounted on a cover 20 coated with silicone, before transferring the cover 20 and the vase, held together by the silicone, in the cinerary urn receptacle 10.
- the cover 20 can be easily sealed against the shoulder or against the internal counterbore 19 of the second end 18 of the plug il. After sealing the cover 20, the receptacle 10 can be turned over to be stacked in a column. Alternatively, provision may be made from the outset to seal the cover 20 to the plug 11 and to leave the cover 12 unsealed.
- Such a column base 0, illustrated in FIG. 5, preferably consists of a solid column barrel whose periphery of the upper end 6 is cut down to present a shoulder 5 identical to the shoulder of the second end 16 of each receptacle 10 assembled with its cover 12.
- the column base can be produced by assembling a portion of a hollow tubular column with a cover, like a receptacle. It is planned to plug the foot 8 of the column base 0 into the ground before transferring and fitting a receptacle for a cinerary urn 10.
- the foot 8 of the column is immobilized in a base, such as a concrete or natural stone foundation.
- the base of column 0 advantageously measures several decimeters and can reach a height of more than one meter, which makes it possible to form a stable, solid and dignified funerary monument, the modular receptacles being arranged at human height.
- FIG. 8 illustrates several columns A-E comprising assemblies of receptacles for cinerary urns A1, A2; B1, B2; D1, D2, D3 and El on separate column bases A0, B0, C0 and E0.
- One advantage of the invention is to make it possible to assemble the receptacles for cinerary urns, as desired, in a manner similar to a family vault, for example.
- FIG. 6 provision is made for placing an epitaph tablet 21 or for etching on the external surface of the plug of each receptacle 11 ''.
- the invention advantageously makes it possible to obtain a funerary monument suitable for cremation practices, compact, stable, solid, insensitive to bad weather, elegant and dignified.
- the receptacles for cinerary urns are symmetrical in revolution, the plugs, lids and lids being circular to form a simple column, round and smooth.
- a column of funeral urns according to the invention may have an ornate external surface, in particular by grooves, edges, beams, twists or other sculptures.
- the receptacles for cinerary urns according to the invention may have a non-circular section, for example cantoned, square, hexagonal, octagonal, polygonal or any other conventional section of column or pillar.
- the cover 12 may have a frustoconical assembly portion 14 (not shown), the countersinking 19 of the distal portion of each receptacle 10 then having a complementary frustoconical surface.
- top of a column can be surmounted by a decorative marquee, luminous, or having a function of protection against bad weather.
