Definitions
- the invention relates to a convertible top for a vehicle, in particular a passenger car according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Canopies of the aforementioned type are moved during the closing process by means of the actuating device from the rear storage position into a locking position above the windshield frame.
- the actuating device During the movement of the convertible top from the storage position into the locking position, the overall center of gravity of the system shifts relative to the main pivot point, with the result that the moment resulting from the weight force changes in the main bearing. Near the closed position, the moment of the convertible top has a closing effect. Since the drive of the actuating device stops abruptly in the locking position, the roof tip bounces, which can lead to a collision with the windshield frame and thus to noise and damage. To prevent this, it is necessary to provide sufficient travel. With a kinematics design with a locking position of the roof tip sufficiently far above the windshield frame, the spring travel is available, but the effort required when closing or locking the roof tip is very high.
- the object of the invention is to develop a convertible top of the type mentioned in such a way that on the one hand a sufficient spring travel is made available and on the other hand the closing force is kept low. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Further features which advantageously design the invention contain the subclaims.
- the main advantages achieved with the invention are that the convertible top is already stopped in an upstream position above the locking position and is supported by the stop in this position during the closing process, and therefore there is a balance between the closing moment from the weight of the system and the counteracting moment from the spring force of the spring-loaded stop. After the system is at rest, the drive moves its remaining distance against the spring travel of the stop. The position reached (locking position) enables the convertible top to be locked easily with little effort. Since the accelerations when moving the drive against the spring force of the stop are low, further deflection is negligible.
- Fig. 1 is a partial side view of a passenger car with a convertible top in the closed position
- Fig. 2 is a partial side view of a passenger car in the upstream position with the fabric support bracket pivoted up and open
- Fig. 3 is a partial side view of the top of the roof, here the closed position, the one above
- Fig. 4 is a partial side view of the convertible top bearings and adjacent components of the convertible top linkage as well as the spring-loaded stop provided on the convertible top storage,
- FIG. 5 shows the spring-loaded stop according to FIG. 4 in a larger representation, the stop being shown in the non-compressed position
- Fig. 6 is a perspective view of the top storage, the spring-loaded stop, the top linkage and parts of the actuator.
- FIG. 1 of a vehicle 1 formed by a passenger car has a convertible top 3 above a belt line 2, which in its closed position A extends over a passenger compartment 4 between a windshield frame 5 and a rear area 6.
- the convertible top 3 formed in the exemplary embodiment by a folding top is detachably held in position in the closed position A by at least one locking device, not shown, on the windshield frame 5.
- the convertible top 3 is composed of a convertible top linkage 7 and an elastic convertible top cover 8 carried thereby.
- the convertible top linkage 7 is pivotally mounted on both sides of the vehicle on convertible top bearings 9 attached to the body.
- the top 3 is received in a rear-side receiving space 10, which in the exemplary embodiment is formed by a top compartment.
- a top compartment This can be closed at the top by a convertible top compartment lid 11 which is rotatably articulated at its rear edge region on the adjacent structure and can be moved from a closed position C into an upright position D and vice versa.
- the convertible top linkage 7 includes an adjacent disc frame 5 arranged large front hood area (roof top 12), which is U-shaped or approximately rectangular in plan view and is formed by a die-cast part made of a light metal alloy.
- the front convertible top area is connected on both longitudinal sides via one or more links to a main pillar 13 rotatably articulated on the convertible top support 9.
- the convertible top linkage 7 comprises a corner bow 14 and a rear fabric retaining bracket 15, which rests in the closed position A of the convertible top 3 on the convertible top compartment lid 11 underneath and is connected to the latter via at least one releasable locking mechanism (not shown in more detail).
- the convertible top 3 can be moved from the rear storage position B to the front into a locking position E above the windshield frame 5 and vice versa by means of an actuating device 16 and vice versa.
- the convertible top 3 is stopped in the upstream position F by the actuating device 16 above the locking position E during the closing process and is supported in this position F by at least one spring-loaded stop 17.
- the upstream position F is approximately 25 ⁇ 10 mm higher than the locking position E.
- a spring-loaded stop 17 is preferably provided on both longitudinal sides of the convertible top 3.
- each spring-loaded stop 17 is provided on the convertible top bearing 9, specifically in an upper region 18 of a transverse wall section 19 of the convertible top bearing 9.
- the stop 17 could also be attached adjacent to the convertible top bearing 9 directly on the adjacent structure.
- Each spring-loaded stop 17 is aligned approximately horizontally and extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, with a rear one Free end 20 of each stop 17 is temporarily connected to the convertible top linkage 7 when the convertible top 3 closes.
- Each stop 17 is composed of an outer guide part 21, an inner, axially displaceable plunger 22 and a plate spring assembly 23 formed from a plurality of plate springs.
- the elongated hollow cylindrical guide part 21 has an external thread 24 which can be screwed into a receiving nut 25 attached to the convertible top bearing 9.
- the guide part 21 is adjustable in the longitudinal direction and can be fixed in the correct position by means of a lock nut 26.
- a radially projecting collar 27 with a substantially larger outer diameter is provided adjacent to the external thread 24.
- the displaceable plunger 22 is received in a central bore 28 of the guide part 21.
- the tappet 22 has an end-side collar 29 at the end facing the convertible top frame 7, which is provided with a spherical shape on the side facing the convertible top frame 7.
- the other end 30 of the plunger is connected to the outer guide part 21 via a screw 31.
- the screw 31 is screwed into an internally threaded section of the plunger 22 and is supported with the head on the end face of the plunger 22 and the guide part 21.
- the plate spring assembly 23 is placed on a stepped cylindrical section 32 of the plunger 22, which directly adjoins the end collar 29.
- the plate spring assembly 23 is supported, on the one hand, on the outside of the collar 27 of the guide part 21 and, on the other hand, on the inside of the collar 29 at the end and holds both parts against one another under tension.
- Each spring-loaded stop 17 interacts either directly with a main pillar 13 of the convertible top linkage 7 or with an attached, projecting fitting part 33 of the main pillar 13.
- the fitting part 33 is shown, which has a rounded shape on the side facing the stop 17.
- the drive of the convertible top 3 is stopped by the actuating device 16.
- Fig. 3 the manual operating handle 35 for locking the roof top is shown.
- the disk spring assembly 23 When the disk spring assembly 23 is compressed, the disk springs are pressed together so that they lie flat on one another: This causes the tappet 22 to be moved forward by a distance "a" (FIG. 5).
