Description

Vorrichtung zum Verbinden zweip.r Packstoffbahnen
Stand der Technik
Die Erfindung geht aus von einer Vorrichtung zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen nach der Gattung des Anspruchs 1, wie sie beispielsweise aus der EP 0 432 126 AI bekannt geworden ist. Eine derartige Vorrichtung wird insbesondere zum Versiegeln einer aus thermoplastischem Material bestehenden, und mit Näpfen für Tabletten, Dragees oder ähnlichem versehenen Kunststoffbahn mit einer Deckfolie verwendet. Bei der bekannten Vorrichtung werden die beiden zu versiegelnden Folienbahnen mittels eines Heizgebläses, das auf den Einlaufbereich zwischen Heiz- und Siegelwalze einwirkt, vorgewärmt.
In der Praxis hat es sich gezeigt, daß derartige Vorwärmeinrichtungen unter Umständen nicht zufriedenstellend arbeiten, d.h. daß eine dichte Siegelung nicht gewährleistet ist. Dies trifft insbesondere bei schwierig zu verarbeitenden Deckfolien zu. Unter schwierig zu verarbeitenden Deckfolien sind beispielsweise besonders gut wiederverwertbare Deckfolien zu verstehen, oder solche, die besondere funktioneile Eigenschaften besitzen. Das betrifft insbesondere sog. "Peel-Off"-Deckfolien, die einerseits eine dichte Verbindung zur Kunststoffbahn, und andererseits ein einfaches manuelles Abschälen der Deckfolie von der Kunststoffbahn ermöglichen sollen. Vorteile der Erfindung
Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen der Ansprüche 1 oder 5 hat demgegenüber den Vorteil, daß auch schwierig zu verarbeitende Deckfolienmaterialien sicher und zuverlässig verarbeitet werden können, so daß stets dichte Siegeltingen mit der Kunststoffunterbahn entstehen.
Weitere Vorteile und vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen ergeben sich aus den Unteransprüchen und der Beschreibung.
Zeichnung
Zwei Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung sind in der Zeichnung dargestellt und werden in der nachfolgenden Beschreibung näher erläutert. Es zeigen die Figur 1 eine
Vorrichtung zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen vereinfacht im Längsschnitt während zweier Betriebsphasen, und die Figur 2 ein abgewandeltes Ausführungsbeispiel nach Figur 1 ebenfalls im Längsschnitt.
Beschreibung der Ausführungsbeispiele
Eine Vorrichtung 10 zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen 11, 12 hat eine um eine Achse 13 schwenkbare Heizwalze 15 und eine mit der Heizwalze 15 zusammenwirkende, angetriebene Siegelwalze 16. Im Berührungsbereich 17 der beiden Walzen 15, 16 werden die beiden als Bodenfolie 11 und Deckfolie 12 bezeichnenden Packstoffbahnen unter Einwirkung von Wärme und Druck auf an sich bekannte Art und Weise miteinander verbunden bzw. verschweißt.
In die aus thermoplastischem Material bestehende Bodenfolie 11 wurden an einer vorhergehenden, nicht dargestellten ersten
Station Näpfe 18 eingeformt, die anschließend an einer zweiten Station beispielsweise mit Tabletten befüllt wurden. Zum Transport der Bodenfolie 11 weist die Siegelwalze 16 an ihrem Umfang den Näpfen 18 angepaßte Ausnehmungen 19 auf. Die Deckfolie 12 besteht beispielsweise aus Aluminium oder aus einem Kunststoffmaterial, beispielsweise Polypropylen.
Zum Erwärmen der Deckfolie 12 auf die erforderliche Siegeltemperatur dient neben der Heizwalze 15 eine mit der Heizwalze 15 zusammenwirkende Vorwärmeinrichtung 20. Die
Vorwärmeinrichtung 20 hat zwei in Deckung mit der Unter- bzw. Oberseite 22 und 23 der Deckfolie 12 in geringem Abstand angeordnete Heizplatten 24, 25. Die auf die Oberseite 23 einwirkende Heizplatte 25 ist vorteilhafterweise zum Wegschwenken um die Achse 13 mit der Heizwalze 15 verbunden. Die weggeschwenkte Position der Heizwalze 15 und der Heizplatte 25 ist in der Figur 1 strichpunktiert eingezeichnet. Um eine möglichst gleichmäßige Erwärmung der Oberseite 23 der Deckfolie 12 zu erzielen, ist die der Heizwalze 15 zugewandte Stirnfläche 27 der Heizplatte 25 der Heizwalze 15 formschlüssig angepaßt, so daß zwischen der Heizplatte 25 und der Heizwalze 15 nahezu kein Spalt vorhanden ist. Die der Unterseite 22 der Deckfolie 12 zugewandte Heizplatte 24 reicht bis etwa in die Höhe, in der die Deckfolie 12 an der Heizwalze 15 anliegt. An das der Siegelwalze 16 zugewandte Ende 28 der Heizplatte 24 schließt sich direkt ein als Vorheizelement ausgebildeter, separat beheizbarer Heizkeil 30 an, der nahezu bis in den Kontaktbereich 17 der beiden Walzen 15, 16 reicht. Der Heizkeil 30, der in etwa die gleiche Dicke wie die Heizplatte 24 besitzt, ist mit der Heizplatte 24 verbunden. Während Produktionspausen sind Heizplatte 24 und Heizkeil 30 gemeinsam von der Heiz- bzw. Siegelwalze 15 bzw. 16 wegfahrbar, so daß sich ein so großer Abstand zur Boden- bzw. Deckfolie 11 bzw. 12 ergibt, daß diese nicht mehr erwärmt werden. Auch hier ist die weggeschwenkte Position der Heizplatte 24 und des Heizkeils 30 in der Figur 1 strichpunktiert eingezeichnet.
Die der Deck- bzw. Bodenfolie 12 bzw. 11 zugewandten Heizflächen 32, 33 des Heizkeils 30 sind antihaftbeschichtet und entsprechend der Form der Heiz- und Siegelwalze 15 und 16 jeweils konvex ausgebildet, so daß sich zu der Deck- bzw. Bodenfolie 12 bzw. 11 ein jeweils konstanter Abstand einstellt, wobei dieser Abstand größer ist als der Abstand der Heizplatte 24 zur Unterseite 22 der Deckfolie 12.
Um auch eine großflächige Vorwärmung der Bodenfolie 11 erzielen zu können, ist bei einer abgewandelten Form der gestrichelt eingezeichnete Heizkeil 30a parallel zur Oberseite 34 der Bodenfolie 11 verlängert.
Die oben beschriebene Vorrichtung 10 zum Verbinden zweier Packstoffbahnen 11, 12 funktioniert wie folgt: Die Heizungen der Heizwalze 15 sowie der Heizplatten 24, 25 und des Heizkeils 30 bzw. 30a sind getrennt voneinander regelbar. Üblicherweise ist der Heizkeil 30 bzw. 30a dabei auf die höchste Temperatur eingeregelt, die nahe oder sogar höher als der Schmelzpunkt der Deckfolie 12 liegen kann. Durch den Abstand des Heizkeils 30 bzw. 30a von der Deckfolie 12 ist dabei gewährleistet, daß die Deckfolie 12 diese Temperatur jedoch nicht annehmen kann. Dagegen besitzen die beiden als Vorheizung dienenden Heizplatten 24, 25 die geringste Temperatur. Zum Verbinden der beiden Packstoffbahnen 11, 12 wird die Siegelwalze 16 vorzugsweise kontinuierlich angetrieben, wobei der Vorschub der Bodenfolie 11 durch das formschlüssige Anliegen der Näpfe 18 in den Ausnehmungen 19 der Siegelwalze 16 erfolgt. Die durch die beiden Heizplatten 24, 25 und den Heizkeil 30 bzw. 30a vorgewärmte Deckfolie 12 wird dann im Bereich 17 durch die Heizwalze 15 durch Wärme und Druck mit ihrer Unterseite 22 auf die Oberseite der Bodenfolie 11 aufgesiegelt. Durch den Heizkeil 30 bzw. 30a ist sichergestellt, daß die Unterseite 22 der Deckfolie 12 in Förderrichtung betrachtet mit zur Heizwalze 15 hin zunehmender Intensität erwärmt werden kann, so daß sich eine besonders gute Siegelung erzielen läßt. Insbesondere durch die Ausbildung des Heizkeils 30a mit seiner parallel zur Oberseite 34 der Bodenfolie 11 verlängerten Heizfläche 33a wird auch die Bodenfolie 11 vorgewärmt, so daß es zu einer optimalen Verbindung der beiden Packstoffbahnen 11, 12 kommt, wobei die
WärmeSpannungen zwischen der Bodenfolie 11 und der Deckfolie 12 gering gehalten werden können.
Bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel nach der Figur 2 wird auf die Vorwärmeinrichtung 20 verzichtet. Statt dessen ist nicht nur die Heizwalze 15, sondern auch die Siegelwalze 16a beheizbar ausgebildet. Damit kann die Temperatur dem Material der Bodenfolie 11 und dem Füllgut angepasst werden, so daß Beschädigungen der Bodenfolie 11 bzw. des Füllguts vermieden werden. Mit der beheizten Siegelwalze 16a ist es möglich, zusätzlich Wärmeenergie auf die Bodenfolie 11 zu übertragen, was zu einer besseren Siegelung beiträgt. Zusätzlich ist mit der Heizwalze 15 eine zusätzliche Umlenkwalze 35 gekoppelt. Über die Lage der Umlenkwalze 35 zur Heizwalze 15 läßt sich der Umschlingungswinkel α der Deckfolie 12 mit der Heizwalze 15 verändern. Je größer der Umschlingungswinkel α, desto niedriger kann die Temperatur der Heizwalze 15 eingestellt sein, um eine bestimmte Wärmemenge an die Deckfolie 12 abzugeben. Andererseits läßt sich bei einer vorgegebenen Temperatur der Heizwalze 15 bei entsprechend größerem Umschlingungswinkel α besonders viel Wärmeenergie in die Deckfolienbahn 12 übertragen. In der Praxis weist die Heizwalze 15 eine vorgegebene, konstant eingestellte Temperatur auf. Durch eine entsprechende Wahl des Umschlingungswinkels α wird dann sichergestellt, daß die benötigte Wärmeenergie in die Deckfolienbahn 12 übertragen wird.
Ergänzend wird bemerkt, daß es selbstverständlich auch möglich ist, die Vorrichtung gemäß des ersten Ausführungsbeispiels ebenfalls mit einer beheizbaren Siegelwalze 16 auszustatten. Damit lassen sich die Vorteile beider Ausführungsbeispiele miteinander verbinden. Außerdem ist es möglich, bei entsprechendem Material der Bodenfolie 11 auf eine Antihaftbeschichtung der Heizflächen 33, 33a des Heizkeils 30 bzw. 30a zu verzichten. Weiterhin wird darauf hingewiesen, daß die Anwendung der Vorrichtung 10 nicht nur auf die im Ausführungsbeispiel beschriebenen Blisterbahnen beschränkt ist, sondern grundsätzlich auf zwei miteinander zu verbindende Packstoffbahnen übertragbar ist.

Claims

Ansprüche
1. Vorrichtung (10) zum Aufsiegeln einer ersten Packstoffbahn (12) auf eine zweite Packstoffbahn (11) unter Einwirkung von Wärme und Druck, mit einer auf die erste Packstoffbahn (12) einwirkenden Heizwalze (15), einer mit der Heizwalze (15) zusammenwirkenden Siegelwalze (16) , sowie einer auf den Kontaktbereich (17) der beiden Walzen (15, 16) einwirkenden ersten Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß eine der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) zugeordnete zweite Vorheizeinrichtung (20) vorgesehen ist, und daß die Temperatur der ersten Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a) und der zweiten Vorheizeinrichtung (20) getrennt voneinander regelbar sind.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die erste Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a) im Bereich der Oberseite (34) der zweiten Packstoffbahn (11) verlängert ausgebildet ist.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die der Unterseite (22) der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) zugewandte Fläche (32) der ersten Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a) einen größeren Abstand zur
Unterseite (22) der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) aufweist, als die entsprechende Fläche der zweiten Vorheizeinrichtung (20).
4. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die erste Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a) zusammen mit einem Teil (24) der zweiten Vorheizeinrichtung (20) von den beiden Packstoffbahnen (11, 12) wegschwenkbar ausgebildet ist.
5. Vorrichtung (10) zum Aufsiegeln einer ersten Packstoffbahn (12) auf eine zweite Packstoffbahn (11) unter Einwirkung von Wärme und Druck, mit einer auf die erste
Packstoffbahn (12) einwirkenden Heizwalze (15) , einer mit der Heizwalze (15) zusammenwirkenden Siegelwalze (16a) , sowie einer auf den Kontaktbereich (17) der beiden Walzen (15, 16a) einwirkenden ersten Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die erste Packstoffbahn (12) über eine lageveränderliche Rolle (35) geführt ist, wobei sich entsprechend der Stellung der Rolle (35) zur Heizwalze (15) ein entsprechender Umschlingungswinkel (α) der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) mit der Heizwalze (15) einstellt.
6. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Siegelwalze (16, 16a) beheizbar ausgebildet ist.
7. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die erste Vorheizeinrichtung (30, 30a) zumindest auf der der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) zugewandten Fläche (32) eine Temperatur aufweist, die nahe oder über der Schmelztemperatur der ersten Packstoffbahn (12) liegt.
8. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die erste Packstoffbahn eine Deckfolie (12) und die zweite Packstoffbahn eine mit Näpfen (19) versehene Bodenfolie (11) ist.
