Abstract

Procédé trouvant application dans l'industrie pour la production de sucre. Afin d'améliorer la qualité du sucre et d'augmenter le rendement, on soumet les cossettes de betteraves à un traitement thermique, puis on les introduit dans une unité de diffusion électrique où on en extrait le sucre dans un champ de courant continu. On soumet le jus de diffusion ainsi obtenu à la filtration et à l'évaporation afin d'obtenir le produit final voulu. Ce procédé est nouveau en ce que le chauffage préliminaire des cossettes de betteraves s'effectue dans un champ de fréquences centimétriques et à une température comprise entre 45 et 70 °C, et en ce que l'extraction s'effectue à une température comprise entre 70 et 80 °C et dans un champ électrique dont l'intensité est comprise entre 2 et 12 V/cm.
