Definitions
- the invention relates to a tensioning device for the skins of percussion instruments, consisting of a plurality of threaded bearing blocks arranged around the circumference of the instrument shell and adjustable therein and screws acting on a tire holding the tire, which in each clamping position relative to the bearing blocks or threads therein can be automatically fixed with a clamping piece enclosing the clamping screw made of an elastomeric material.
- Such a clamping device is known from DE 41 06 492 AI.
- the clamping piece has an opening which is penetrated directly by the thread of the screw or a threaded sleeve receiving the screw, the smallest opening width of which lies below the external thread diameter of the screw or threaded sleeve. All materials of rubber-like elasticity ⁇ which are available for technical use can be used as the material for the clamping piece.
- the clamping pieces can be produced in particular from natural rubber, synthetic rubber, rubber-like materials or other plastics.
- the smallest opening width of the opening - which can be circular or of any other shape - is in no case larger than the outer thread diameter on the shaft of the screw, ensures that the threads of the screw shaft with elastic material deformation of the clamping piece in the walls penetration and are thereby exposed to a constant braking force which is intended to prevent the screw from rotating automatically or undesirably relative to the clamping device.
- the clamping piece can find a non-rotatable abutment on the bearing block and / or directly on the casing body or the like of the percussion instrument carrying this. The braking force on the screw is thus caused solely by the fact that engage the threads of the screw in the walls of the opening with elastic deformation of the clamping piece.
- the screws are provided on their shank with at least one circumferential flattening or indentation, which can be brought into engagement with a circumferential portion of a spring clip under radial prestress within the threaded bushes or sleeves and thereby with the Circumferential flattening or indentation forms a rotary locking device between the screw and the threaded sleeve.
- This securing of the position of the clamping device therefore not only offers a self-locking effect in any rotational position between the screw and the threaded sleeve, but it also produces a positive locking action in very specific relative positions between the screws and the threaded sleeve.
- this requires a relatively complex training and therefore also a correspondingly high cost in the construction of the percussion instruments.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of improving the position securing with an elastomeric clamping piece in a simple manner for a tensioning device of the type mentioned at the outset.
- clamping piece is positively arranged in the clamping device.
- the clamping piece with a polygonal inner recess engages over a corresponding polygonal attachment of a threaded sleeve surrounding the tensioning screw, the recess or attachment preferably being designed as a square could be.
- the clamping piece thus ensures triple-position securing, namely firstly through the self-locking effect between the screw and the threaded sleeve, secondly through the constant braking force achieved due to the smaller opening compared to the outer thread diameter on the shaft of the screw, and also due to the twisting with certainty exclusive positive connection due to the engagement of the polygonal inner recess and polygonal approach.
- the clamping piece consequently contains, on the one hand, the smaller opening compared to the clamping screw and, on the other hand, the contours of the inner recess, which in this case exclude twisting.
- the clamping piece has a polygonal outer contour and engages in a corresponding polygonal recess of a clamping angle receiving the clamping screw, the contours here also advantageously being able to be square.
- the positive connection is consequently obtained by the snap-in of the polygonal clamping piece enclosing the tension screw with its opening in the correspondingly shaped recess of the tensioning angle.
- the clamping piece is provided with a web-like extension, which has a hook at its free end, which extends over the hoop.
- the positive connection is established here due to the hook of the clamping piece extension which lies over the hoop.

- FIG. 7 shows, as a detail, another embodiment of a tensioning device, including a tensioning angle, in the tensioned state of the skin;
- FIG. 8 shows the tensioning device according to FIG. 7 in the released state
- FIG. 9 shows in detail the clamping piece marked "Y" in FIG. 8, shown in longitudinal section;
- FIG. 10 shows a section through the clamping piece along the line X-X of FIG. 9.
- FIG. 11 shows a further embodiment of a clamping Device with a clamping piece according to the invention, including a clamping angle.
- FIG. 1 shows a drum 1 as an application example of the invention, which has an annular jacket 2, over one end of which the skin 3 is placed. With its edges, the skin 3 is fastened in a tire 4 which surrounds the upper end of the jacket 2 with concentric play.
- the tire has a radial flange 5, on which eight tensioning devices 6 engage, which are arranged uniformly distributed over the circumference of the drum 1.
- Each tensioning device 6 has a bearing or support bracket 7 rigidly arranged on the outside of the drum shell 2 (see FIG. 2). Either the bearing block 7 is directly provided with a nut thread or has a threaded sleeve with a corresponding nut thread.
- the bearing block 7 fastened with screws 8 and interposed elastic sleeves 9 in the drum shell 2 receives a threaded sleeve 10, with the nut thread 11 of which the shaft 12 of a clamping screw 13 is engaged.
- the tension screw 13 has a radial adjustment slot in its head 14, which allows the tension screw 13 to be rotated by means of a suitable screwdriver. The rotation causes the clamping screw 13 with its shaft 12 to be axially displaced in the nut thread 11, as a result of which the tension of the skin supported on one end of the drum casing 2 can be changed via the tire 4.
- the head 14 of the clamping screw 13 acts on the top of the radial flange 5 of the tire 4.
- each clamping device consist of an elastomeric clamp 15, the on the one hand has a central opening 16 (see FIG. 5), the smallest opening width of which is smaller than the thread outer diameter on the shaft 12 of the clamping screw 13. This ensures that the threads of the thread 17 of the screw shank penetrate into the walls of the opening 16 with elastic material deformation of the clamping piece 15 (see FIG. 3) and are thereby subjected to a constant braking force which contributes to an automatic or to prevent undesired rotation of the tensioning screw 13 relative to the tensioning device 6.
- the clamping piece 15 is provided with a square inner recess 18 (see FIGS. 4 and 6), which also makes it possible to produce a non-rotatable positive locking connection which ensures the position is secured.
- the threaded sleeve 10 is formed with a corresponding square attachment 19 (cf. FIG. 3), over which the elastomeric clamping piece 15 can be placed.
- the skin 3 is tensioned or loosened with the aid of a tensioning angle 20.
- the clamping angle overlaps the tire 4 and acts accordingly on the skin 3 when tightening a clamping screw 113 which is guided with its shaft 12 through the clamping angle 20 and screwed into the bearing block 7 via the tire 4.
- the elastomeric clamping piece 115 has a central opening 16 (see FIGS. 9 and 10), the smallest diameter of which is smaller than the outer diameter of the thread-free shoulder 21 of the tensioning screw 113.
- the clamping piece 115 encloses a thread-free section 21, which is designed as a groove in the shaft 12 of the clamping screw 113. This ensures that the clamping piece 115 is secured in the axial direction. So that an additional torsion-proof positive connection can be achieved for securing the position by means of the elastomeric clamping piece 115, the clamping piece 115 has a four-sided outer contour (see FIG. 10), which is assigned a corresponding square recess 23 in the clamping angle 20. If the tensioning bracket 20 and the tensioning screw 113 are to be quickly dismantled in order to change the skin, only the tensioning screw 113 needs to be unscrewed from the tensioning position shown in FIG.
- the clamping piece 115 is released from the non-rotating seat of the recess 23 of the tensioning bracket 20, in order to enable faster removal of the eardrums.
- the braking effect of the clamping piece 115 is switched off in this phase.
- the embodiment of the clamping device 106 shown in FIG. 11 using a clamping angle 20 differs from the device described above in connection with FIGS. 7 to 10 by a different shape of the clamping piece 215, namely the thread 17 of the shaft 12 of the Clamping screw 113 is arranged in the clamping angle 20.
- it has a web-like extension 25, which has a hook 24 at its free end.
- the position-securing, additional and non-rotatable positive locking connection is achieved in this case by the hook 24 of the extension 25 of the clamping piece 215, which overlaps the tire 4.
- the shape of the clamping piece 215 helps to serve as protection for the tire 4. List of reference numbers
