Definitions
- the invention relates to a contact spring for contact spring strips with a connecting pin, an adjoining the latter and connectable to a printed circuit board of the contact spring strip and a contact spring connection electrically connectable to a post of a plug, the free end of which has a bead-like depression.
- the upper end of the contact pin has a lateral thickening, via which the contact pin is biased by bending back behind a flange of a part of the connector housing. If the upper end of the contact pin were detached from the flanges, the contact pin would move away from its longitudinal central axis as a result of the prestress. The upper end is arched outwards by a central, bead-like bend. On the side facing the housing wall, the contact pin is provided with a convex depression at its upper ends. Due to this deflection, the space between the upper end of the contact pin and the housing wall increases and thus the space available for tool access when the contact pin is pressed into the printed circuit board.
- connection between the contact spring and a post takes place in the middle or lower area of the contact spring.
- at least two contact points between the post and the contact spring required, which is regularly achieved so that the upper end of the contact spring is provided with two elastic legs, between which the post can be inserted.
- the invention has for its object to develop the generic contact spring so that a good connection between the post and the contact spring is guaranteed.
- the object is achieved in that the free end of the contact spring with respect to the outside of the post is offset about the longitudinal central axis of the post that at least two outer sides of the post are in contact with the lining of the recess.
- the invention is implemented in any case when the relative position of the post to the end of the contact spring is changed such that the post, which is regularly square in cross-section, the long sides of which run parallel to the long or narrow sides of the printed circuit board, with the The contact spring is in contact at least two points.
- the recess is designed so that it is not a complement to the connecting part of the post. If it is a recess that has the shape of a triangle in cross section, then the angle should be selected so that it is different from 90 °. This essentially achieves a two-point contact as with a two-leg spring. Further expedient and advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
- a further expedient embodiment of the invention provides that the end has a concave central section which ends in two legs convex with respect to the post, and that the post touches the depression in the transition region between the central section and the legs.
- This area regularly has a flattening, as a result of which a rich and relatively large-area connection can be established between the contact spring and the post.
- a particularly expedient embodiment of the invention provides that the press-in section and the contact spring connection lie approximately in the same plane, which is the one long side of the regularly rectangular printed circuit board at an angle different from 90 °, preferably 45 °.
- the end pins of the contact spring, the cross section of which is regularly square, are arranged at right angles to the printed circuit board, the sides of which run parallel to the narrow or long sides of the printed circuit board. Since the connecting pin and the press-in section or the contact spring connection are rotated relative to one another, the press-in sections of a contact spring strip with a multiplicity of contact springs run parallel to one another, but obliquely to the longitudinal or narrow sides of the printed circuit board. This significantly improves the transmission in the high-frequency range.
- Another expedient embodiment of the invention provides that a deflection offset with respect to the longitudinal central axis of the contact spring is formed between the press-in section and the contact spring connection. This deflection on the one hand increases the elasticity of the free end of the contact spring and on the other hand ensures that the longitudinal central axis of the contact spring coincides approximately with the longitudinal central axis of the recess.
- Another expedient embodiment of the invention provides that an extension is formed between the press-in section and the deflection.
- the housing is designed as a hollow body which can be detached with the extensions of the contact springs extending along the outer edges of the printed circuit board is connectable.
- FIG. 2 is a side view of the contact spring shown in FIG. 1,
- FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III of FIG. 1 enlarged
- Fig. 4 shows a section through a contact spring strip
- FIG. 5 is an axial plan view of an inlet opening according to FIG. 4 in the direction of arrow V.
- a contact spring 10 for contact spring strips with a connecting pin 12, an adjoining this and connectable to a printed circuit board of the contact female connector 14 and a electrically connectable to a post 24 of a plug contact spring connector 15 is shown, the free End 16 has a bead-like recess 18.
- the free end 16 of the contact spring 10 is offset with respect to the sides 26 and 27 (see FIG. 3) of the post 24 about the longitudinal central axis 27 of the post 24 such that the sides 25 'and 26' of the post 24 with the lining the recess 18 is in contact.
- the post 24 has a cuboid cross section and that one of the longitudinal edges 19 of the post 24 engages in the recess 18 and is arranged in this at a distance from the contact spring 10. Pages 25 and 26 of the post 24 are located outside of the recess 18.
- the end 16 has a concave central section 17 which ends in two legs 16a and 16b which are convex with respect to the post 24.
- the post 24 touches the lining of the recess 18 in the transition region 21, which is located between the central section 17 and the legs 16a and 16b.
- the depression is designed as a bend which is hat-shaped in cross section, the two legs 16a and 16b running approximately parallel to the diagonal 29 of the post 24.
- connector pin 12 which has a rectangular cross section, is rotated with respect to the plane defined by the press-in section 14 or the contact spring connector 15 can also be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, where its cross section is shown below the connector pin 12 .
- a bend 22 is formed which is offset with respect to the longitudinal central axis of the contact spring 10 and which increases the elasticity of the upper end 16.
- An extension 20 is formed between the press-in section 14 and the bend 22, which also serves to produce a snap-in connection between the housing 31 and the contact springs 10 (cf. FIG. 4).
- Fig. 4 shows a part of a contact spring strip with a plurality of contact springs 10, the longitudinal central axes aligned with the axes of the inlet openings 30.
- the inlet openings 30 are provided for posts, not shown, which can be connected to the upper ends 16 of the contact springs 10.
- the press-in sections 14 of the contact springs are located in the printed circuit board 11 and run obliquely to the narrow or long sides of the printed circuit board.
- the housing 10 is designed as a hollow body which can be detachably connected to the extensions 20 of the contact springs 10 which extend along the outer edges of the printed circuit board 11.
- the housing has two inwardly directed and tapering webs 40 and 41, which can be detachably connected to the extensions 20.
- FIG. 5 reveals that the free end 16 of the contact spring 10 is arranged such that the two legs 16a and 16b lie on one of the diagonals of the inlet opening 30.
- the free end 16 is relaxed, but a post is inserted into the opening 30, then the free end 16 is moved to the position shown in dashed lines.
