Abstract
Los compuestos de la invención contienen un grupo sulfonamida central, diversos grupos que están conectados al átomo de azúfre y al átomo de nitrógeno del grupo sulfonamida. Compuesto caracterizado por la estructura de fórmula (I), en donde: D es hidrógeno, hidrocarbilo sustituidos o no sustituido, hetercíclicos sustituidos o no que optativamente poseen uno o más enlaces dobles, halógeno, alcoxilo, éster, amida; o D y G, tomados juntos, forman un grupo cíclico sustituido o no; E es hidrógeno, hidrocarbilo sustituido o no, heterociclos sustituidos o no que optativamente poseen uno o más enlaces dobles, alcoxilo, amida, sulfonilo, sulfonamidilo, sulfuro o alcoxilo; o E y J, tomados juntos, forman un grupo cíclico sustituido o no; y G, cuando no forma parte de un grupo cíclico que incluye D, es hidrocarbilo sustituido o no, heterociclos sustituidos o no que optativamente poseen uno o más enlaces dobles, amina, amida, éster, éter o carbamatos; o J, cuando no forma parte de un grupo cíclico que incluye D, es hidrocarbilo sustituido o no, heterociclos que optativamente poseen uno o más enlaces dobles. Por ejemplo: (S)-5-((dimetil(1,1-dimetiletil)silil)oxi)-1-pentanol. Los compuestos de la invención presentan capacidad para diversos usos. Por ejemplo, pueden actuar modulando la producción de proteina beta-amiloide y son de utilidad en la prevención y/o tratamiento de diversas enfermedades, tales como angiopatía amiloide, angiopatía amiloide cerebral, amiloidosis sistémica, enfermedad de Alzheimer, hemorragia cerebral hereditaria con amiloidosis de tipo holandés, miositis con cuerpo de inclusión, síndrome de Down. Tambien se proveen composiciones que contienen los compuestos de la invención.
