DESIGN FOR INKSTANDS.
Speciication forming part of Design No. 8,804, dated November 23, 1875 application tiled October I9, 1875. {Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it muy concern:
Be it known that I, IIOMER, LEE, of the city, county, und Stute ot' New York, have invented :ind produced n new and original Design for un Ink-Bottle; and I hereby de claro the following to be a. i'ull, clear, and exact description ot' the saine, reference being` had to the inzcompanying photographic illustrations, l'orming u part of this specification.
Figure l in said illustration shows a front, und Fig` 2 a reni', View ot'un ink-bottle, showA ing` my design, nnide partly of inet-al. Fig. 3 is u t'ront, and Fig. I u rear, view, of nn inkhotlle pnrtly mnde ot' glass, pictures being introduced beneath the surface, which show through the sinne.
A is the lower part of an ink-bottle, provided with concentric ribs B, as desired, and having the general form oi' a. bell, provided with n crack, C, extending from neer its top to the bottom thereof. This part A rests upon n` base, D, which is made with rounded toi-mations b, und with bends c running spirnlly in both directions over seid formations if, und nre raised above the letter. At each point. where these spiral bauds across each other n stur, d, is placed.
lIpon one side, as shown in Fig. 1, the part A is made with the words Centennial Souvenir und the number 1776, and on the other side with a representation of the Old Hull ot Representatives at Philadelphia, the number 1T being placed on one side ofthe dome ot' snid Hall, Iand the number 76 on the other side thereof, the bottom part ot' A being nin-de with the words Old Liberty Bell.7 All ot' the seid inscriptions, numbers, and the representation may be either in alto relievo or bass-relief.
When the port A is made of glass, the front oi' the Old Hall of Representatives, a picture ot' Memorial Hall, one of the Centennial Build. ings, or any other desired picture, printed or. engraved, may be placed beneath its surface, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4.
The cover E is made with projections F,
which are curved as shown, und meet at the center of the cover. Beneath these projections e. pincushion, G, is placed and held, its` protrudingr sides making with sind projections F o graceful and ornamental handle i'or the cover E. Surmounting these projections F is an ornement in the shape of e Liberty Uup, H, terminating in a band, I, studded with sters l in alto-relieve or bass-relief. 'Ihe Liberty Gap is supported by e rounded base, L, which rests upon the projections F.

The inscriptions upon the Old Liberty Bell in the Hall of Independence et Philadelphie may be placed upon the part A. These inscriptions, or the inscriptions and numbers on said part A, ns shown in the photogruphic illustrntion, may be omitted, it' desired, without departing from my invention.
Having thus fully described the nature of my design, hat I cluiln as new :ind originel, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for e cover, E, the projections F, having formed within them s pincushion, G, all ot' the eontiguration described.
2. In a design for a cover, E, the projections F and a Liberty Cup, tl, substantially as shown and described.
3. The design for the port A, consisting;l of the concentric ribs B and crock U, combined with a. bese, D, made with rounded formations b, spiral bands c, and stars d, substantinliy as shown and described.
4. The design for an ink-bottle, consisting ofthe Liberty Cap H, projections F, p-.n't A, and base D, substantially es shown and described.
