DESIGN FOR A DOOR-PLATE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,759, dated October 26, 1875; application filed September 14, 1875.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it. known that I, J AGOB OAPRON, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have originated a new Design for Name, Bell, and LetterBox Plate; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my design isfully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.
A represents the body portion of the plate, consisting generally of a plane surface, as shown. (1. represents a molding cast upon its edge, which forms a border or finish for the body portion. ca ofrepresentdivision-moldings, by means of which the body portion is separated into panels, as shown. B represents the mouthpiece of a speaking tube, which is located near the center of the upper panel, as shown. 0 represents aplatc having the word Letters inscribed thereon, which is located between the panels a a. D represents a glass plate inclosed by a molding, d, which is centrally located in the panel formed between the moldings a a, as shown. Erepresents the bell-pull handle, of pear-shaped conformation, which is centrally located in the lower panel, as shown.
The body portion is preferably constructed of bronze, and the month-piece and handle of silver or nickel plated material,in consequence of which a pleasing contrast is formed.
By the employment ofthe division-moldin gs in connection with the edge molding the body portion is-divided into distinct panels. Each of these panels also is provided with a central object, so that a harmonious and pleasing appearance is produced.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. The design described, consisting in the combination-of the edged molding, divisionmoldings, and central objects, substantially as illustrated.
2. The design described, consisting in the combination of the upper panel with its central circular objects, the second panel with its central inscription, the third panel with its central plate, and the fourth panel with its pear-shaped handle, as illustrated.
