UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GILBERT H. BLAKESLEY, OF BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR CLOCK-CASE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,015, dated December 2, 1873; application filed November 8, 1873. [Term of Patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GILBERT H. BLAKEs LEY, of Bristol, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for 2!. Clock Case, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my design is fully represented in the aecom iianying drawing, to which reference is made, and in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of a clock-ease which em bodies my design, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of the same on line w .r of Fig. 1.
The top of the case is round, and on its front is a round sash, A, through which the dial, when placed in the case, will be exposed to view. From the head or sash A the sides a a extend to the bases B B in a curved line, said sides forming a segment of a circle, and are placed back to back-that is, with the inside of the curve outward, as shown. The front surface of the sash A and sides a a may be ornamented by any style of molding that may be selected. The bases B B are composed of three moldings. The upper member, I), and the lower member, 0, extend along the sides and front of the bases, and the lower member, 0, also extends across the front of the case. 0 is a flat panel, set back from the front of the bases B B and sides a a, as shown in Fig. 2, and it extends from the head downward to the between the bases. Upon this panel I place subject of a separate application for a design patent.
. It will be seen that making the panel G ex tend downward between the bases B B, the sash D, in which a clear glass may be placed in order to expose the pendulum to View, extends to very near the extreme base of the case.
The design for the body of the case, of the contour shown above the line a: as, may be used in connection with a base of other design, and the bases B B, with the flat panel and sash D between the bases, may, if desired, be used in connection with a case of a different contour from that shown.
I claim as my invention- 1. A design for the portion of a clock-case which is above the line an at of Fig. 1, in which the contour is composed of the round top and curved sides, arranged in the manner shown and described.
2. A design for a clock-case in which the base and central front is composed of the bases, panel, and sash, arranged substantially in the manner shown and described.
