UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE EDWARD INGRAHAM, OF BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR CLOCK-FRONT.
Specification forming part of Design No, 6,628, dated May 6, 1873; application filed February 19,1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD INGRAHAM, of Bristol, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Clock-(Jase Front, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my design is fully represented by the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.
A designates a round sash for holding the glass which covers the dial. The contour of the case is composed mainly of curved lines. On each side of the sash it assumes a nearly semicircular form, the bulging portion thereof being in a horizontal line with the center of the sash A, and from that point, both above and below, drawing inward on the line of a true circle until nearly opposite the upper and lower edges of the sash A. From these sides upward the edge of the case curves in the opposite direction and the two sides meet, formin g a point, a, at the top. On the front of the case, and following its contour, I place a band or molding, b, preferablye rounded band. This portion of the case, as described, and which is mostly above the line as :r, I consider as the most prominent and leading feature of my de sign. Below the line as w I place two columns, B B, at the base of the band I), as shown, and make the contour of the case conform to said columns. The whole may be mounted upon any suitable base.
1 claim as my invention- 1. The design for that portion of the case which is above the line 41 or, substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for the columns B B when taken in connection with the subject-matter of claim one, as shown and described.
EDWARD INGRAHAM.
