UNITED STATES ATEN'r Erica,
HENRY HELLER HARRISON, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
CARD FORPLAYING LOTO AND OTHER GAMES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N0. 295,388, dated March 18, 1884. Application filed January 5, 1884. (No model.)
To rtZZ 1071 0122, it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, HENRY HELLER HAR- RIsoN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cards for Playing Loto and other Games, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a plan view of one of my improved cards, part being broken away. Fig. 2 is a sectional end elevation of the same, taken" through the line a: a", Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a sectional side elevation of the same, taken through the line 7 3 Fig. l.
The object of this invention is to promote convenience in using cards for playing loto and other games.
The invention consists in a card for playing loto and other games, made with a base-plate mediate plate having slots over the rows of numbers, a top plate having openings over the numbers, and slides for covering the numbers,
The body of the card isformed of three parts or platesviz., the base or main plate, A, the intermediate plate, B, and the top plate, 0. The numbers are printed or otherwise i'ormed upon the base-plate A, and in are formed openings D, to allow the said numbers to be readily seen. In the intermediate plate, B, upon the lines of the numbers, are
formed slots E, to receive the slides F, which are made of sufficient size to close the openings D and cover the numbers. The slides F have flanges G upon one edge, which project through the openings D, and serve as handles for convenience 1n adjusting the said slides to cover and uncover the numbers.
The plates A B0 may be cemented or otherwise secured to each other, and the card can have a light frame, H, attached to the edges of its front, to strengthen it and give it a finish.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A card for playing loto and other games, made substantially as herein shown and described, and consisting of the base-plate A, having numbers printed upon it, the intermediate plate, B, havingslots E over the lines of numbers, the top plate, 0, having openings D over the numbers, and the slides F to cover the numbers, as set forth.
2. In a card for playing loto and other games, the combination, with the base-plate A, having numbers printed upon it, of the intermediate plate, B, having slots over the rows of numbers, the top plate, 0, having openings D over the numbers, and the slides F to cover the numbers, and provided with handleflanges G, substantially as herein shown and described, whereby the numbers can be read ily covered and uncovered, as set forth.
HENRY HELLER HARRISON.
