GAME-REGISTER AND TRUMP-INDICATOR.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 291,349, dated January 1, 1884. Application filed December 1, 1883. (No model.)

To aZZ whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE W. HYATT, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improve ments in Game-Registers and Trump-Indicators, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Reference is to be hadto the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is aplan view of my improvement. Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation of the same, taken through the line at m, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a plan View of the center plate, the disks being detached. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the lower disk.

The object of this invention is to provide a simple and convenient means of registering the number of points made and the number of games played, and indicating the trump.

The invention consists in a game-register and trun1p-indicator constructed with a cen tral plate having an aperture and edge recesses, and provided with two circles of numerals upon the face, and having a disk provided with the four card-characters upon its face, pivoted to one side, and two apertured disks pivoted to the other side over the circles of numerals, as will be hereinafter fully described.

A represents the center plate, which I prefer to make of the exact size of the cards of the pack.

To the under side of the plate A, at its cen ter, is pivoted, by a tubular rivet or other suitable means, a disk, 13, of a diameter about equal to the width of the plate A. Upon the disk B, at equal distances from the center and from each other, are represented the four distinguishing characters of the cards, as shown in Fig. 4.

In the plate A, at one side of the center, and

. in such a position as to be in the path of the characters upon the disk 13 when the said disk is rotated, is formed an aperture, 0, of such a size that the said characters upon the disk 13 can be readily seen through it.

To the end parts of the plate A, upon the opposite side from the aperture G, are pivoted two disks, D E, in such positions that their edges will be flush with the end edges of the plate A.

Upon the plate A, beneath the disks D E, are printed the nine digits, arranged in circles, as shown in Fig. 3, and in each disk D E is formed an aperture, F, in such aposition that he said digits will be seen distinctly and suc cessively through the said apertures as the said disks are rotated.

In the side edge of the plate A,directly op posit e the disk B, and in the end edges of the said plate, directly opposite the disks D E, are formed recesses G, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, so that the finger of the operator can come in contact with the edges of the disks B D E when it is desired to turn the said disks.

\Vith this construction, by adjusting the disk B at the beginning of each game, the trump will be indicated, by adjusting the disk E as the game progresses the number of points made can be registered, and by adjusting the disk D at the close of each game a registry can be kept of the number of games played.

Having thus described my invention, whatI claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A game-register and trump-indicator constructed substantially as herein shown and described, and consisting of the central plate, A, having aperture G, and provided with recesses G in its edges and with two circles of numerals upon its face, the pivoted disk B, having the four card-characters upon its face, and the pivoted disks D E, having apertures F, as set forth.

2. In a game-register and trumpindicator, the combination, with the central plate, A, having aperture 0, edge recesses G, and two circles of numerals, of the pivoted disk 13, carrying the card-characters, and the disks D E, having apertures F, substantially as here in shown and described, whereby the trump can be indicated and a registry made of the points made in a game and the number of games played, as set forth.
