DESIGN FOR COFFlN-HANDLE SOCKETS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8.039, dated February 2,1875; application filed January 29, 1875. [Term of Patent 7 years] CASE C.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RUssELL II. BURR, ot' 'Vest Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State ot'Oonneetieut, have invented a new Design for Cottin-Handle Socket; and I do herehv deel-are the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, and the letters of reference ln-.uked thereon, to he a full, clear, and exact description of the saine, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent a front View.
This invention relates to a design for the soekets by which the handles are attached to eotiins, and consists in the peculiar eonlignration or outline of' the socket, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The upper, lower, and outer edgesof the base are formed alike, the general outline being that of a quartertoil. At the intersection ol' the segments which make such quartertbil a eirenlar recess, a., is formed, and a recess, (l, in the eireumterenee ot' these segments, midwav between the recesses a.. The inner edge, A, is to a great extent hidden hy the handle, and may be of any forni, that being no part ot' this design. The ear l5 is cent1-albY arranged upon the plate, in the usual manner, and may he ol' any form, the outline ot' the socket-base eonstituting the essential feature ot' this design.
