DESIGN FOR COFFlN-HANDLE SOCKETS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N0. 11,791, dated May 25, 1880.
Application filed April 26, 1880.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, WM. E. STEVENS, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for (JoffiwHandle Sockets; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face View.
This invention relates to a design for socket or base for eoffin-handles-that is to say, that part by which the handle is attached to the coflin; and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The general outline of the base is in the Term of patent 14 years.

The edge of the base between the points is ornamented by a series of notches or indentations, 25 which give the appearance of a mat upon which the star rests, and as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The design for coffin-handle socket, consisto ing of the star-shaped base with notched or indented projections between the points of the star, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
