DESIGN FOR A CORNER-PIECE FOR COFFINS AND GASKETS.

To all whom it may concern Belt known that I, ADoLPH M. Honsrnm, a citizen of the United States, residing at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga and State of New York, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Corner-Piece for Coiiins and Caskets, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.

In the drawing, Figures 1, 2 and 3 are, respectively, side and front elevations and top plan view of my design for a corner piece for coflin s and caskets.

This design of corner piece for coffins comprises angularly arranged embossed surfaces having a central vertical protuberance 1 located at the angle of the faces and rising from a depressed background 2, the protuberance having at its upper end a spherical boss 3 located above the central horizontal axis of the corner piece. Said protuberance 1 has its greatest thickness near its lower portion and the surface of its lower portion recedes downwardly to the lower edge of the corner piece and to the background 9., and an intermediate part of the protuberance 1, recedes upwardly and merges in small sweeps into the surface of the boss 3.

The design further comprises side edges which curve gradually inwardly from near the upper ends thereof to a point below the central horizontal axis of the corner piece and just above the portion of greatest width of the elongated protuberance 1 and then curve abruptly outwardly as at 6, then downwardly and inwardly toward each other in easy curves or sweeps at 7 into the lower edge of the corner piece. The upper portions of said side edges curve into the upper edge of the corner piece.

The upper and lower edges of the corner piece are scalloped or lobed and a raised ridge or border follows the outline of the greater portion of the side edges of the corner piece.

I claim:

The ornamental design for a corner piece for coffins and caskets, substantially as shown and described.
