ADOLPH M. HOLSTEIN, OF SYRACUSE, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A CORNER-PIECE FOR COFFINS AND GASKETS.
Specification for Design.
Patented Jan. 5, 1915.
Application filed September 11, 1914. Serial No. 861,312. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ADOLPH M. HOLSTEIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga and State of New York, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Corner-Piece for Coffins and Caskets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.
In the drawing, Figures 1, 2 and 3 are, respectively, side and front elevations and top plan view of my design for a corner piece for coflins and caskets.
This design for a corner piece for coflins comprises angularly arranged lengthwise faces having an embossed figure 1 at their juncture and lengthwise curved depressions 2 with enlarged lower ends, and lengthwise ridges 3 at opposite sides of the intermediate portion of the figure 1. The embossed figure 1 is formed with a central spherical protuberance 4 at its top and with side ridges 5 having their upper ends convex in outline and their lower ends curving downwardly toward each other and beneath the protuberance. The lower end of the figure 1 is formed with a central elongated protuberance 6 extending upwardly from the bottom of the corner piece and of greatest width at its bottom and with depressed marginal surfaces 7 at the sides of the protuberance 6, said protuberance 6 and surfaces 7 decreasing upwardly in width and merging into the lower ends of the ridges 5. Contiguous outer surfaces of the protuberance 4: and ridges 5 and the protuberance 6 and surfaces 7 curve inwardly or rearwardly toward each other and merge together in a concave surface.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a corner piece for coffins and caskets, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two attesting witnesses, at Syracuse. in the county of Onondaga, and State of New York, this 5th day of September, 1914.
ADOLPH M. HOLSTEIN.
Witnesses:
S. Dsvrs, F. B. PICKARD.
