This design of corner piece for coffins has the appearance of a shortened pillar with a base 1 of enlarged width, and with a covering 2 on the top having a tongue-like extension 3 hanging down along the central line of the pillar. The upper portion of the pillar is of rounding cross-section and the lower. portion thereof is formed with angularly arranged faces extending upwardly from the lower end of the pillar and merging into the outer surface thereof at a point between its ends. The angular faces are formed rounding in cross-section and are each provided at its lower portion with upper and- lower rounding protuberances 4, 5, in line with the like protuberances on the other angular faces, so that said protuberances are arranged in two rows, one above the other.
