PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE W. COPE AND WILLIAM L. BEBTRAM, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN, AS- SIGNORS TO KALAMAZOO STOVE COMPANY, OF KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,312, dated May 5, 1903.
Application filed October 4, 1902. fierial No. 125.994. Term ofpatent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, GEORGE W. COPE and WILLIAM L. BERTRAM, citizens of the United States, residing at the city of Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan,have
invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Heating-Stove, of which the following is a specification.
Our new and ornamental design for a heating-stove is shown in the accompanying perspective drawing;
The leading feature of our design is in the novel and attractive figures produced thereon.
A subordinate feature is the ornamental r5 shape of the stove with which such figures are combined.
Referring to the drawing, the base of the stove, it will be observed, is rectangular in general outline and is ornamented with scrolllike figures and has a smooth band at the bottom. The legs are conformed to carry out the scroll idea of the base ornamentation. The ash-door for the base is the main ornamental feature thereof and has curved cornor embossments and a fluted border at the bottom, above which is an upwardly-curved rib, which embraces a fluted portion corresponding to the fluted border below, and above this is a downwardly-curved rib, which embraces a fluted portion similar to those described. The fender is ornamented by scroll designs, and its projecting edge is conformed thereto, thereby dividing the same into sections. Across each section is an upwardlycurved rib terminating in downwardly-extending scrolls at the ends of the sections, while above and interwoven therewith are corresponding scroll figures. The front plate is provided with a fluted ornamentation and is conformed thereto. At the sides of the door are ribs which terminate in downwardlycurved scrolls extending across the top, and below this is an upwardly-curved rib .entwined with which is a second rib or scroll. Below this is a fluted rosette, to each side of which is a fluted portion embraced by inwardlycurved scrolls. The top is ornamented by fanciful Cand ogee shaped interwoven figures of bold design, the whole having a plain centrally-arranged band about the same, so which seemingly rests thereon. The top is surmounted by an urn-shaped figure consisting of a central upwardly-tapering portion,on which is an upwardly-projecting stem-like branching figure. This central part is surrounded by fanciful C-shaped ribs or bars, which are arranged at each side thereof, the bottom pair opening inwardly, and above these is a second bar, opening outwardly. These are surmounted by a corresponding downwardly-opening rib or bar, which embraces the top of the central portion.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Lettors Patent, is-
The ornamental design for a heating-stove, substantially as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals in the presence of two witnesses.
