Be it known that I, CHARLES JOHN NOKE, residing at 22 James street, Stokeupon- Trent, England, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for Jugs or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being, had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof.
The figure of the drawing represents a side View of a jug, showing my new and original design thereon.
As shownin the drawing, theinvention con sists of the unitary design made the subject of illustration in its aspect of shape, configuration, and ornamentation as applied to jugs or similar articles. The ornamentation consists of the figure of a male person enveloped in a long coat to which is attached a cape and a turn-down collar, and the head of said figure being surmounted by a cockadehat. The figure carries in the left hand a lighted lantern and in the right hand, which is raised to the shoulder, a watchmans staff. In the background, against which the head of the figure stands out in bold relief, is a bright cloud, and above all is a crescent moon.
