EUSTACE CREES AND CHARLES S. COURT, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, ASSIGNORS TO THE WATSON AND NEWVELL COMPANY, A CORPORATION OF RHODE ISLAND.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,295, dated April 28, 1903.
Application filed March 26, 1908. Serial No. 1 i9,'763- Term of patent '7 years.
To aZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that we, EUSTACE CREEs and CHARLES S. COURT, citizens of the United States, residing in the city of Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for the Handie of a Spoon or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The leading or material feature of our design consists in the arrangement of magnolia blossoms and leaves represented in relief.
The drawing represents our design embodied in the handle of a spoon.
The head of the handle is ornamented with a large full-blown flower 1, overlying the leaves 2 2. The upper half of the stem of the handle is ornamented by another fullblown flower 3, overlying leaves 4 4. About midway of the stem is the bud 5, branching out from between the leaves 6 6. The lower half of the stem is plain except for the marginal lines 7, which inclose at the base of the handle the bud 8,with its surrounding leaves.
It will be seen that our design can be applied to the handle of any article similar to a spoon.
Having described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental design for the handle of a spoon or similar article as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we have aflixed our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
EUSTACE OREES. CHARLES S. COURT. IVitnesses:
