UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
TYLER CALHOUN, OF RIDGETOP, TENNESSEE.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPEGIFIGATIQN forming part of Design No. 34,267, dated March 26, 1901.
Application filed March 1, 1901. $erial No. 49,519- Term of patent '7 years.
Figure l is a perspective view, and Fig. 2
is a central longitudinal section, of a spoon embodying my design.
The essential or leading feature of my design consists ofaspoon, substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings.
Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 indicates the bowl of a spoon, which bowl is surmounted at the rear by a hood 2. The
front edge of the hood is formed on a graceful curve 5, as shown, which merges at each side into the edges of the bowl of the spoon at 6, thus forming a curve of parabolic nature. The outer contour of the hood is a symmetrically-curved surface, as shown, and the handle extends tangentially from the curved surface of the rear portion of the bowl at or near the junction of the hood with the bowl at the rear.
The handle 3 is bent into a circular open loop, the end 4; terminating a short distance from the shank of the handle, as clearly shown in Fig. 2.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a spoon, as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
TYLER CALHOUN.
