DESIGN FOR A RAIL-BOND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,022, dated December 1 18 Application filed November 16, 1399. Serial No. 737,242. Term oipatent 14 years.
T0 (155 whom it new concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES J. MAYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new, useful, and origi nal Design for a Rail-Bond, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in \vhich-- Figure 1 isaside view of the rail-bond, ill ustratinginy design. Fig. 2 is a top or plan View of said bond, and Fig. 3 is an end view of the same.
The views are deemed essential or necessary to a full understanding and illustration of the design of my said invention.
The leading feature of my design consists of the shape or configuration, as well as particular arrangement, of the rail-bond.
Referring to the drawings, (L and u represent the solid ends of the bond, circular in form. The bottom of each end (t presents a flat surface, and the top surface a is inclined outwardly, and formed with each of said ends is an inclined circular tapering projection a. The ends are respectively connected with each other by means of a substantially U bar, consisting of a series of nested narrow strips laterally and longitndinallyarranged in parallel planes, as clearly illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. These nested strips, constituting each bar of the series laterally arranged and in theform illustrated, are nested closely together and bear substantially upon each other to constitute the union of the bar with the respective described solid circular metal ends.
Having thus described my invention, What Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a rail-bond, herein shown and described.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my signature, this 15th day of November, A. D. 1899, in the presence of two subscribing Witnessos.
