DESIGN FOR A RAIL-BOND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,020, dated December 19, 1899. Application filed ember 18, 1899. Serial No. 73 7,527. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, CHARLES J. MAYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Design for a Rail-Bond, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which- Figure 1 isatop orplan View of the rail-bond of the design of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a side View of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists of the particular shape or configuration and arrangement of the rail-bond.
Referring to the drawings, a and a represent the end recessed brackets, each provided with projecting plugs a and a.
b and b represent outer and inner bands, each composed of a series of closely-nested narrow metal strips, both of which are offset at b and b the respective bands contouring with each other aboutthe middle and beyond on both sides of the middle ofthe bond,as illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawings, and respectively joined to the end brackets, so as to provide the irregular openings 0 and 0' between the outer and inner bands and within the inner band the irregular openings d, d, and d, the openings d and d being ofa dilferent form or shape from the form or shape of the opening (1'.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a rail-bond, substantially as herein shown and described.
