SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,116, dated July 4, 1899.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR G. ROGERS, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new Design for a Handle for Spoons, Forks, Knives, and Similar Articles; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of referencemarked thereon, to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification and represents a face view of a handle embodying my design.
This invention relates to a design for a handle for-spoons, forks, knives, and similar articles; and it consists in the design as hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying illustration.
The general outline of the handle is similar to that of the fiddle-back pattern, and the face is ornamented by long scrolls A, extend- Application filed June 9,1899. Serial No. 719,977. Term of patent 7 years.
ing from the inner end of the shank upward, the said scrolls starting in foliated scrolls l3 and merging into foliated scrolls 0 near the center of the handle. The main portion of the upper end of the handle is plain, forming an elliptical panel D, which is contracted at its ends, the lower end merging into the f0- liated scrolls C, and on each side are floral scrolls E, which are elaborated at the upper end, terminating in an ornamental tip F.
I claim The design for a handle for spoons, forks, knives and similar articles as herein shown and described.
