Be it known that I, ARTHUR G. ROGERS, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Handles of Spoons, Forks, &c.; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification and represents a face View of handle illustrating my design.
This invention relates to a design for the handles of spoons, forks, &c.; and it consists in the configuration and ornamentation as hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying illustration.
As shown in the drawing, the out-er end of the handle terminates in a trefoil A, on opposite sides of which are outwardly and downwardly turned scrolls B. The edges of the handle below the scrolls B are ornamented by inwardly-curved scrolls C and outwardlycurved scrolls D, the said scrolls C and D being connected by a foliated ornamentation D, inclosing a plain panel F. Below the scrolls D the edges of thehandle taper inward and are edged by long narrow scrolls G, beyond which are short reversely-curved scrolls H, which merge into the edge of the body I.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for handles of spoons, forks, &c., as herein shown and described.
