The leading and material feature of my design consists in the raised ornamentation of the handles, in which strings of graduated beads extend along and between foliated marginal scrolls.
In the drawing, A indicates the scissors, and B B the handles, which are exact duplicates, being ornamented by the same design. The end of the handle is ornamented with the double-beaded band 2. Along the inner margin extends the raised elongated bulb 3 and on the outer margin the foliated scroll 4, the graduated string of beads 5 extending along the center. The foliated scroll 6 extends along theinner margin to the rounded portion 7 of the finger-loop, and a graduated string of beads extends along the center of that portion of the handle. The scrolled bead 8 extends along the opposite margin of the fin gerloop, having a string of beads along its inner curved side. The foliation 9 extends from one end of the scrolled bead 8 to the rounded portion of the finger-loop, spreading out fanshaped at the end of the foliation, while from the opposite end of the scrolled bead 8 extends the elongated leaves 10 to merge with the end of the foliated scroll' l.
