MW}? zwnzog .f/ W -"6 w UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN THOMAS LISTER, OF CLEVELAND, OIIIO.
DESIGN FOR AN lNCANDESCENT-LAMP BULB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,267, dated June 29, 1897.
Application filed May 1,1897. Serial No. 634,779. Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN Tnonas LIs'rEE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cleveland, county of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Design for Incandescent Bulbs, of which I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to improvements in a design for incandescent bulbs or shells, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingd rawings, showing a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a longitudinal view of the invention, showing both extremities. Fig. 2 shows an end view.
The leading feature of my design consists in a flattened bulb-like extension from the main portion of the shell of the lamp, which is rounded at the extremity in the are of a circle. The outline of the bulb-like extremity is withdrawn toward the center, where it meets the curve of the shell, thus partially separating the shell and bulb.
As shown in the drawings, 1 is the shell; 9, the rounded extremityof the shell; 3, the narrowed connection with the flattened bulb. 4' is the curved edge of the hull).
The outlines are smooth, as shown.
The bulb is completed by a curved but flattened surface which closes the extremity of the bulb.
\Vhat I claim is- A design for an incandescent bulb, sub stantially as set forth.
JOHN THOMAS LISTER.
