SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,492, dated January 5, 1897.
Application filed August 14, 1896. Serial No 602,317. Term of patent 7 years.
To 117/ whom it III/I l/ cancer/1 Be it known that I, EDWIN C. 1Io\\'E,aeitizen of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, in the county of Fail-field and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Brackets for Incandescent Lights; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which itappertains to make and use the same.
The accompanying drawing illustrates in perspective my newly-designed bracket.
The leading features of my design consist in the angular bend at or about the middle portion of the bracket, the loop or eye at one extremity of the bracket, and the cylindrical plug extending from the other extremity of the bracket.
The bracket is made from sheet metal with the exception of the plug, which is secured to y the bracket in any suitable manner and is threaded so as to be readily attached within the socket of an incandescent light. The loop or eye portion is formed by curving and recurring the sheet-metal stock, and when viewed in side elevation such loop or eye as well as the threaded plugappear disposed in a horizontal plane.
l is the sheet-metal bracket; L, the loop or eye atone end thereol; 3, the angular bend at or about the middle portion, and t the ex teriorly-threaded plug, secured to the outer extremity of such inacket.
5 is a clamping-screw which passes through the body and extremity of the stock which forms the loop or eye for the purpose of contracting or expanding such eye, as may be desired.
I claim-- The design for a bracket for iucam'lesccnt lights, substantially as herein shown and described.
