No. 34,922 Patented Aug. |3, |9o|.
T. MORGAN. SECTION FOB SEPABABLE TOBACCO PIPES.
(Application filed Mar. 12, 1901.)
v a 61 ftoznua.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS MORGAN, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SECTION FOR SEPARABLE TOBACCO-PIPES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,922, dated August 13, 1901.
Application filed March 12,1901. Serial No. 50,890. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern..-
Beitknown that I, THOMAS MORGAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Section of a Separable To- .bacco-Pipe, of which the followingis a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
The invention relates to the formation of a section of a separable tobacco-pipe, and the design thereof is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a pipesection embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same.
The main body portion A is substantially of a semi-egg shape truncated at one end, as at B, and having a slightly-tapering semicircular stem portion 0 projecting from its rounded end, the flat side thereof being coincident with the flat side of the main body portion A. Extending from the flat side of the main body portion and the semicircular stem portion is a dovetail D, formed integrally therewith and made tapering on the main body portion from that side from which the stern portion 0 branches to its opposite side. In the flat side of the body portion a substantially conical cavity E is formed, and in the under side of the dovetail, extending from the end of the stem portion to a point near the center of the body portion, is a U'- shaped groove G, which is intersected by an inclined U-shapcd groove H, formed in the flat side of the dovetail and extending from a point about midway between the ends of the lower side of the dovetail to the bottom of the conical cavity formed in the body portion.
Having thus described my invention, what Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a section of a separable tobacco-pipe, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have affixed my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
THOMAS MORGAN.
Witnesses:
EMIL NEUHART, ANDREW J. VAUGHT.
