DESIGN FOR A SPOON OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,413, dated October 23, 1900.
Application filed August 10, 1900. Serial No. 28,529. Term of patent 3l years.

lle it known that I, GEORGE D. MERRILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at East Orange, county of Essex, State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a certain new land useful Design for a Spoon or Similar Article; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the in vention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a new and useful design for a spoon or similar article.
The object of luy invention is to provide a spoon of the character described with certain peculiar dislinguishing features of configuration which, combined with the other portions of the spoon, impart a strikingly novel. and artistic effect to the article as an entirety.
The accompanying drawing shows the article of manufacture in elevation, dotted lines indicating a spoon-howl and fork-tincs.
The straight stem u, has the spoon-bowl at one end and a latcrally-projecting head d at the opposite outer end. The inner portion b of the stein tapers from the spoon-bowl longitudinally of the stein and is reduced toward the outer end thereof. This short tapered portieri b is encircled by the spiral groove c, formed around and longitudinally thereof, from the bowl to the end of the taper.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a spoon, substantially as shown and described` In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
