DESIGN FOR A PIPE-COUPLING MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 28,656, dated May 17, 1898.
Application filed April 15, 1897. Serial No. 632,324. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM SAVAGE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a certain new and original Design fora Pipe-Coupling Member, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
My invention relates to a design for a pipecoupling member, substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of a coupling memberembodyingmydesign, and Fig. 2 is an end view thereof as seen from the left in Fig. 1.
The leading feature of the design resides in the particular configuration of the coupling member as illustrated in said drawings, in which (1 represents the main bodyof the coupling, said part being substantially cylindrical in shape. At one end it has an enlarged portion or rib b, comparatively narrow, and adjaeent to said portion 11 is a reduced portion 0, which is, however, of greater diameter than the body portion a. This portion 0 has upon opposite sides projections d and recesses h. Adjacent to the portion 0 is a portion 6 of a still reduced diameter, which has openings f in its side and is provided in its outer end, as shown in Fig. 2, with adiamond-shaped open- 3o ing g.
