DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-SADDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,894, dated April 13, 1897. Application filed Decemher l'l, 1896. Serial No. 616,071. Term of patent 7 years.
1'0 LtZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WVARREN l-I. CRAIG, of Lawrence, county of Essex, and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bicycle-Saddles, of which the following description, in connection With the accompanying drawings, is
a specification, like letters on the drawings representing like parts.
Figure 1 is a top plan View of a bicyclesaddle, showing the design; and Fig. 2, alront elevation thereof.
The plan outline of the saddle is substantially the same as that of bicycle-saddles commonly used, and said saddle has the usual forward extension or poinmel portion a, the top of which has a rounded upper surface, as indicated at oi, Fig. 2.
The leading feature of the design resides in the shape and configuration of the top and front of the saddle. As shown in Fig. 1, the top of the saddle has two prominent surface portions 1) rising above and separated by a depression or channel 0, the outlines of said portions being substantially straight along the sides of said depression, as indicated at 11 and then slightlyflaring laterally, as shown at 12 and finally curving rearward, as shown at b. The surfaces of said portions Z) curve downward, as shown at 12 Fig. 2, toward the bottom of the saddle. Along the sides and front of the saddle is a line 0 curving upward over the pornmel a and extending rearward along the inner side of'the convex surface portions b, as shown in Fig. 2.
I claim- The design for a bicycle-saddle, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my. name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
