SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,459, dated April 5, 1898.
A lination filed June 3, 1897. Serial No. 639,354. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known thatI, LANSING ONDERDONK, a citizen of the United States, residing at \Vinthrop, in the county of Suffolk, State of Massachusetts, have invented a Design for Saddle- Cushions, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and t0 the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention relates to a design for a bicycle seat or cushion; and it consists in the shape and configuration thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists in'a cushion for the top of a bicycle-saddle having a raised compartment in the rear and having at the forward end a compartment arranged at an incline and deflected below the forward end of the rear compartment.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a top plan view of a bicycle-saddle cushion embodying my design, and Fig.
2 is a side elevation of the same.
In the drawings, A represents a suitable base provided with a raised compartment formed of two sections B C, which together form a wide part at the rear and gradually taper around toward the front, so that together they are substantially oval in shape. An opening 0' may be provided between them. Tapering toward the front of the base is another raised compartment D, which at its rear end is inclined downwardly beneath the forward ends of the sections of the other compartment.
I claim as my invention The design for a cushion for saddles, substantially as shown and described.
