HENRY A. OHRISTY, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A SADDLE-SEAT FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,139, dated March 19, 1895. Applica i n fi Decemher 20, 1894. Serial No. 532,504. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:

forming a part thereof.
his invention relates to a design for saddle seats, but more particularly to the seats of saddles used on bicycles.
My design consists essentially in the seat r5 portion of the saddle having the form or configuration substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings, thatis to say, the seat has a smooth approximately fiat surface or top and the sides thereof are formed with an ogee curve and terminate at the front in a truncated horn which is centrally recessed longitudinally of the seat.
bus, as will be seen, the leading features of the design reside in the shape or configuration of the saddle seat provided with a centrally longitudinally recessed truncated horn.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the saddle seat; and Fig. 2 is a plan of the same.
Referring to said drawings, the surface of the main body portion A of the saddle seat may be smooth, or approximately flat, as shown, and it is somewhat wider than the ordinary saddle seat. The rear portion of the seat may be curved, as at a, and the sides thereof, as at a, a, the latter terminating in such manner as to form a shortened up or truncated horn or neck B. The neck or horn B extends forward but a short distance and is centrally recessed or divided by a suitably recessed or cut away open portion I), extending longitudinally of the seat.
What I claim is The design for a saddle seat substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
