.JAMES H. SAGER, OF ROCHESTER, NEV YORK.
DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-SADDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,296, dated February 15, 1898. Application led October 14, 1897. Serial No. 655,220- Term of patent 7 years.
o cl/ZZ whom t Indy concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES H. SAGER, a citibn of the United States, and a resident of the ,ty of Rochester, in the county of Monroe nd State of New York, have invented and reduced a certain new and original Design )r Bicycle-Saddles, of which the following is specification, reference being had to the acompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 shows a top view of a bicycle-sad-l le embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a side levation, and Fig. 3 is a rear elevation. Fig. is a cross-section of the saddle through the enter of the depressions A2 A3.
The leading features of my design consist f the contour and proportion of the saddle Ierein set forth.
The design consists of two similarly-proortioned cylindrical partsA A' and between Ind connected with them the depressed elongated portion B, which is upon the same base is the parts A A', and one end of which forms, vith the surfaces of the parts A A', the con- :ave curvature b at the cantle of the saddle. l/lerging into the portions AA' are two wedgeshaped portions C C, (see Fig. 2,) whose inner sides are continuous with the flat surface of the portion B, but substantially at right angles thereto, and whose outer faces are continuous with the outer cylindrical surfaces of the portions AA' in the concave curvatures D D'. The pommel end of the portion B is connected as shown at B', extends somewhat beyond said wedge-shaped portions C C", and in connection with said portions C C' forms the pom mel of the saddle. The top surface of each portion A A' has at its center a depression A2 A3, (see Figs. 1 and 4,) and said top surfaces are respectively united to the cylindrical surfaces a a' by curved edges E E.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a bicycle-saddle substantially as shown and described.
JAMES H. SAGER.
