TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Beit known that we, DANIEL S. COLBY and ROBERT SCORER, of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer, and State of New York, have originated and produced a new and useful Design or Patterns for Parlor or Heating- Stove Plates, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a view of the bottom plate.
Figure 2 is a View ofthe front plate; and
Figure 3 is a view of the end plate, all of the same stove.
Our said design is composed and-arranged as follows, to wit: The aforesaid bottom plate is extended forward to form the hearth A, upon which is placed the register-plate B, of the form or design as shown. The outer edge or border of the bottom plate is composed of a fillet, a, a quarter round, b, a. notched or dentated bead, c, and bead d, extending around the same, as shown in and by the aforesaid fig. 1 of annexed drawings. The aforesaid front plate has near the edge of each side pilasters C C', and on the lower central parts the raised panels D D', surrounded by the ornamental moulding e. Across the centre of this panel is an ornamental division moulding or mullion,f, which divides the panel into two sections, within each of which is arranged n. moulding, so as to form twin arches with a pendant, g. Upon the upper part of said front plate are arranged the ornamental devices E E and F, all as fully shown in said fig. 2 of annex-ed drawings. The aforesaid end plate has its lower part swelled out, or in form of a raised panel, with moulding h at the base, and ornamental design i at the top, and pendent ornament-j on central part of the panel. Upon the upper part of the plate is arranged the ornamental device G, all as fully shown in said iig. 3 of the annexed drawings.
What we claim as our invention or production, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental form, configuration, and design for plates of a parlor or heating-stove, the same as herein described and shown in thc annexed drawings.
